Mustang Week 2009

Alright, Ford Mustang fans…it’s time again to gather up in Myrtle Beach and celebrate the Legend at the Mustang Week 2009 Car Show. 2010 Ford Mustang

With all the focus upon efficiency and safety these days, some might think the new Ford Mustang (a sports car known to all) might not have the best track record when it comes to safety and passenger protection. Think again. The stiffened platform and multiple updates to the 2010 Ford Mustang make for a package of power as well as safety. Yeah, yeah “safe”…somewhat subjective until a reputable metric is applied. How about a fiver-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Association for front and side collisions as well as rollover performance? With the Mustang putting up stats like this, Ford is able to push ahead of the pack with the leading number of five-star rated vehicles in the fleet. Be sure to watch the videos and make sure to check out the official scoop in the Press Release. (more…)

Blind Man wins contest for Ford Mustang drive

When it comes to the Ford Mustang and its faithful fan following, there are always great stories and memories involved. We’ve seen the 2010 Mustang given away to one of our Armed Services personnel. We’ve seen some great video productions in a recent Ford video contest. We’ve witnessed firsthand how a Shelby GT500 changed the way people think about Mustang modification. There is one recent unique story we’d like to share at this point: how a blind man got the chance of a lifetime when he won a (spirited) test drive in a brand new 2010 Mustang convertible. Roger Keeney had always dreamed of driving a new Ford Mustang, but since being blinded in 1990, he hasn’t quite had the chance to do so, let alone drive any car. (more…)

Sources Say Coyote is a Go18 May

2010 Ford Mustang GT

By now, it’s no secret that millions of fans hope to see the recently updated Ford Mustang get a much-needed power plant upgrade in the near future.  Well, Mustang fans, we’ve got some interesting buzz for you.  Today, Ford of Australia’s Russell Christophers hinted that a new 5.0 liter V8 codenamed “Coyote” is currently in R&D in the US of A.  That’s right, the SEMA rumors seem to be heating up closer to the boiling point of truth, folks.  If this 5-oh comes to fruition, sources say the numbers tach in at 400hp and 400 lb-ft of torque from the DOHC motor.  So now, it’s not a question of “if” the Coyote will come to pass; it’s a question of “when”.  Many say 2011 or 2012.  Conjecture is welcome, as no one can say for certain, given the volatility the market (and aftermarket, for the matter) is experiencing.  Until we hear more, stay tuned…
