I'll have to wait a few years to see the reports to see how camaro stacks up to Mustang"good old faithful"..... Mustang surely is one head turner that's fun to drive, performs well, is agile, is a true muscle car, and is more refined and is a car that has stood the test of time. camaro is a good performer in the tests but in the long run is it a RELIABLE car????? from past experiences with chevy camaro I can surely tell you it is not a reliable car. Inside is cheap, difficult seeing out the windows. Only beats the Mustang by tenths of seconds 0-60. But burns more gas, and probably just like the past chevy's, will quickly succumb to problems and be in the shop for repairs a lot. I once had an 86 V6 auto with t-tops that camaro sucked. I paid 14k for it and over the 7 years I had it spent about another 14k in repairs it was forever in the shop for something and t tops leaked. 2011 camaro probably remake of same old cheap 86 model, will perform nice for about a year then fall apart. later in years I bought a v6 mustang 2003 had it for 7 years and NEVER spent any big money on repairs just general maintenance was the most reliable car I ever owned the only problem was a burnt out tail lamp....that's it. The Mustang was flawless when it came to repairs, there just were NO repairs to be made it held up and performed flawlessly. Ford is much better than Chevy for performance and reliability. The Mustang is 300lbs lighter has 111hp less, has better ergonomics inside, and has equal performance of the Camaro with better gas mileage to boot. Ford is the only survivor of the three - Mustang/Chanllenger/Camaro muscle cars over the past 40 plus years. Ford has done it's homework well and has fine tuned the Mustang over the years improving it's handling characteristics, it has better steering manners than it's rivals too. Mustang is very retro, still turns heads, has good quality interior with good visibility better than camaro and challenger. Mustang has muscle car performance for a better price. Big power and handling needs to translate to performance. However, the new Camaro's performance versus bang-for-the-buck is lost in translation. I have to pay more money for a V-8 Camaro or Challenger than I would for a Mustang, then pay more for gas too. Everytime I see a new Camaro, which is not very often thank goodness, it reminds me of the fat kid from elementary school with the goofy smile.As for the Challenger, I guess the "challenge" for Chrysler is to see how many people they can rip off before everyone realizes that the Challenger isn't a realistic vehicle in todays sports car market. Sure, it has big power and a classic look, but I wouldn't pay all that money to drive around in a car that has one of the lamest interiors I've seen in awhile. I worked hard for my money, and when I spend $30K+ for a car, I don't want a KIA interior.I like to look of the new 2010 Mustang interior, but the exterior leaves me wondering...what the hell were the Ford designers thinking with the tail of the Mustang.
