DHR Fabrication X-Brace for 2005-2009 S197 Ford Mustang

DHR X-brace for S197 Ford Mustang

Ford Mustang fans who are nuts about autocross or road racing will want to take a good look at a nifty suspension product we stumbled upon just recently.  DHR Fabrication has released their new S197 Mustang X-brace, available for 2005-2009 Ford Mustangs, including coupes and convertibles.  This X-brace ties the front lower control arm mounting location to the sub-frame using all existing holes, which not only eases installation, but also shows fine craftsmanship.  The X-brace also knits up key structural locations together for increased compliance under the extreme driving conditions commonly experienced on the racetrack.  As a result, there is an improvement in driver confidence and as a direct result, faster lap times.  A roofless car will benefit the most from chassis stiffening upgrades, as they have a tendency to flex more than their coupe counterpart.  Additionally, DHR has produced a K-member brace, which can be used in conjunction with the X-brace for greater control of your Mustang, or it can be used separately if the budget is tight. Keep reading for all the gritty details in the official Press Release.

Online PR News – 20-August-2009 – Brookline, NH. DHR Fabrication LLC, a subsidiary of Dad’s Hot Rod and Fabrication Shop LLC, introduces its exclusive line of sub-frame X-Braces for the 2005-2009 hardtop and convertible, S197 Ford Mustang. The introduction of the X-Brace, to the high-performance parts industry, is a highlight for DHR Fabrication and Dad’s Hot Rod Shop. The X-Brace is the first offered for the Ford Mustang model years 2005-2009.

The DHR Fabrication X-Brace mounts under the vehicle for torsional rigidity. This unique design triangulates the floor-pan and increases the strength of the sub-frame.

The X-Brace diagonally ties the lower rear control arm mounts to the front sub-frame mount. The brace incorporates 1 inch by 2 inch box tubing and 3/16″ thick steel plate suspension mounting points.

The X-Brace is installed using ten existing bolt holes in just one 1 hour. No drilling or welding is required. The X-Brace is epoxy primer coated and all mounting hardware is included.

“Our X-Brace design is a one-of-a-kind for this model. It has been developed for our demanding customers who race solo and auto-cross events. It delivers added rigidity and reduces rattles, particularly noticeable in the convertibles. We are confident this brace hits the mark,”

The X-Brace is patent pending and retails for $395. The X Brace is currently available for purchase at www.dhrfabrication.com.

DHR Fabrication also manufactures a four point, steel plate, K-Member Brace. The K-Member Brace is also the first of its kind available for the 05-09, S197 Ford Mustangs. The K-Member Brace is designed to reduce front sub-frame flex. This brace is epoxy coated black, includes all mounting hardware, and installs in about 30 minutes. The K-Member brace can be used alone or in conjunction with the X-Brace and retails for $129. The K-member brace is available for purchase at www.dhrfabrication.com.
