2010 Ford Mustang Convertible

The 2010 Ford Mustang and 2010 Ford Mustang convertible seem to be headlining Mustang news every other day in the past few weeks.  Just moments ago, spy photographers caught the 2010 Mustang convertible tooling about, with a lot of its camouflage removed, showing a good view of the Mustangs styled taillights, rear spoiler, and some updated decklid badging.

Vertical translucent (white perhaps?) bars now separate the tri-bar taillights found on many Mustangs, past and present.  At first glance, it seems to provide for a cleaner, slicker look.

The rear spoiler almost hints at the ducktail spoiler found on many late model Ford Mustangs.  Likely to replace the two-post design of the current S197 Mustang convertible, this wing stretches out directly from the top of the decklid.

What is most notable from this perspective is the pdated rear badge between the taillights.  The updates to the badging appear to lean more toward retro styling and some notchy design.

While lots of details, some conflicting, are abundant, one has to realize that Ford could just be trying things out, exhibiting for mass display, and then adapting to see what might actually work when the time comes for mass production.  Until then, we'll have a blast guessing what might become of the new 2010 Ford Mustang!
