Boss Ford Mustang

Just when Ford Mustang fans were getting a full head of steam in the race to nostalgic bliss, Ford steps in and makes an announcement that the Boss Ford Mustang is not one that we'll see into production.  PickupTrucks.com recently reported that Ford is chopping the program for the Boss V8, only slotting it for the engine bays of the Super Duty truck lineup.

The 2010 Ford Mustang isn't the only loser in what could have been the Boss reborn--the F-150 was also supposed to get the Boss powerplant.  Not now.

These Boss V8 engines were supposed to be the deciding factor in the heated domestic competition for power between the Big 3 & Toyota (all reputable truck sellers).  Now, with efficiency (vs. power) being the buzz, coupled with over $4 / gallon gas, Ford is making Bold Moves again...but are they headed in the right direction?

Mark Fields, President of Ford of the Americas, believes that there really isn't much discussion more so than perhaps wishful thinking.  He claims that "it's hard to axe something that was never on the table to begin with".  Ah, but it was on the table, Mark.  On the table, mantle piece, bookshelf, glass display, etc as one of the most popular, powerful, and recognizable faces of American automobile history & culture.
