2011 Ford Mustang Pricing Trickles Out

2011 Ford Mustang GT

2011 Ford Mustang GT

That’s right, folks.  The pricing for the new 2011 Ford Mustang V6 and GT models has been released leaked for all to see.  It looks like we’ll take a bite off the golden goose once again, but boy, would it be worth it to have a 400+ horsepower 5.0 in the stable!  The basic 2011 Mustang coupe is slated to have a suggested retail price of $22,995 (destination and delivery inclusive) while the upgrade to the GT trimmings will move the sticker to a starting point of $30,495.  Sounds like a hefty jump when compared to the ’89 GT 5.0 once-owned, which had a window sticker displaying a “lofty” (at those times) $14,000.  Times have certainly changed…

It looks like options & add-ons will create the gray-scale continuum of pricing with the 2011 Mustang, as has in many years past.  Ford’s offering the California Special package ($2,475), the Mustang Club of America package ($995), a 6-speed auto transmission ($995), upgraded Brembo braking ($1,695), and the choice of a new rear differential ratio ($395).  Aside from the starting points and these mentionable options, take a look below at the price structure for the midpoint models in between the base and premium trims.

2011 Ford Mustang Pricing

  • 2011 Mustang V-6 coupe | $22,995
  • 2011 Mustang V-6 coupe (Premium) | $26,695
  • 2011 Mustang V-6 convertible | $27,995
  • 2011 Mustang V-6 convertible (premium) | $31,695
  • 2011 Mustang GT coupe | $30,495
  • 2011 Mustang GT coupe (Premium) | $33,685
  • 2011 Mustang GT convertible | $35,495
  • 2011 Mustang GT convertible (Premium) | $38,695

All the above retail prices include a $850 Destination and Delivery Charge.

I can’t believe how much the convertible is. The base model GT is not bad, thinking about trading my current 2006 Mustang GT for one.

They are loosing sight of what made the Mustang so great in teh first palce; fast and inexpensive. $30k is too much money for a base GT, but still a bargain when compared to the tubby Camaro and Challenger price tags.

I don’t understand these prices. A premium gt coupe is over $38,000 in central Pennsylvania! How do they expect to sell these?

I have never heard any Camaro guys whine about the prices. Maybe some of you should check out a GM car…
