2011 Ford Mustang 5.0-liter V8 engine available a la crate

StangNet Built to Cruise 2011 5.0 V8

It’s no secret StangNet was the first recipient of a 2011 5.0-liter V8 crate motor for the Built to Cruise project, but now, any willing Ford fan can lay down a soft sum of $6999 to Ford Racing, and have one of his/her very own!  That’s right, guys & gals, the 2011 Ford Mustang GT power plant can be yours for insertion into any project you see fit.  If it’s one thing we have learned about the Ford Mustang enthusiast community, it’s that they have an eye for a project and a sharp wit when it comes to improvisation.

The Ford Racing crate 5.0 carries part number M-6007-M50, is rated at the same 412 ponies and 390 lb-ft of torque as is found in the 2011 Mustang GT, and weighs in at just 444 pounds.  So…how do you get your paws on one?  Hit up your local Ford dealership–orders placed are expected to ship around August 15, 2010!

OR…

If you aren’t in the mood to drop $7 grand on the motor directly, perhaps you might do some window shopping at Late Model Restoration and put your name in the hat to win one for free!  Click here for more details!
