2011 Ford Mustang GT vs 2011 BMW M3 Coupe

The fine folks over at Motor Trend have taken it upon themselves to make a comparison we (Ford Mustang fans) can really sink our teeth into. In past model years, none have ever seriously considered a comparison between the Ford Mustang and the BMW M3. It never really made sense, as Ford’s finest simply just wasn’t enough to match up to a formidable competitor across the pond.

Until now.

As faithful followers of the 2011 Ford Mustang, we all know just how exciting this year has been. We’ve witnessed incredible power (300hp) & efficiency (35+ mpg) produced from the base Mustang couple AND the return of the legendary 5.0-liter power plant back on the scene. Yesterday, we confirmed the new 5.ooohh will be supercharged in at least 3 flavors, straight from the pages of the Ford Racing catalog. Today, we’re here to show you a stellar review & head to head between the 2011 Ford Mustang and the BMW M3.

Head over to Motor Trend for the rest of the story–it is a GOOD one!

  1. Matt H says:

This was a little lopsided to my eyes. The Mustang Spanked it in virtually every performance category and even with BMW’s latest Suspension package on the almighty M3 the Mustang was less than a tenth behind on the racetrack. And Pobst was short shifting the Mustang. He complained about the brake dive. So a set of valved Koni’s and some stiffer springs and this would have been a blow out with 25 grand in the bank! Nice Job Ford!
