MRT receives Ford Motor Company Product Excellence Award

Plymouth, Michigan- MRT was recently awarded the Ford Motor Company Product Excellence Award for the MRT 2011 Mustang GT Predator Project Vehicle, by the Ford Product Development community.

The award was created to recognize excellence in product development and total project vehicle execution. Key criteria included; new product development, vehicle appearance, fit with the Mustang Brand, use of aftermarket parts and overall display.

The MRT Predator was designed and engineered by the MRT primarily focusing on power train and chassis updates, but with a purposeful exterior appearance. The Predator’s interior features a true driver’s environment with rich looking, custom seating, with MRT tilting headrests and trim accented off by the MRT carbon cherry appliqué.

The power train starts with the 5.0 Ti-VCT V8 4V coupled with a Sean Hyland twin screw supercharger. The Dynatech long tube headers together with the new MRT Max Flo H-Pipe and new MRT stainless steel axle –back exhaust enable the spent gases to be quickly expelled from the motor. The Ford six speed manual gearbox is connected to a Shaftmasters aluminum one-piece driveshaft.

Chassis upgrades include Baer Racing Brakes, H&R coil over suspension, and the new MRT rear suspension handling package. The F14 Forgestar 20×9 front and 20 x 11 wheels with Pirelli 255/35/20 front and 295/30/20 rear performance radials are in keeping with the Predator’s total performance capability.

The new MRT rear window louvers and 3D Carbon Boy Racer styling kit highlight the MRT custom Black Cherry Ghost paint, by Sherwin Williams.

The interior features new MRT tilting headrests, TMI custom design and fabrication as well as MRT custom interior affects.

The 2011 MRT Predator marks the seventh consecutive year that an MRT Ford Project vehicle has earned an award at the SEMA Show.
