Two cool news bites on the 2012 Mustang

We’re all very familiar by now with the new 2012 Mustang and its continued fame & exposure in the press.  Well, there’s a couple more nifty, cool features that can be found on the 2012 Mustang.  One: two new & exciting colors.  Two: a sweet new Reverse Sensing System–the first of its kind as an option on the Mustang.

The two new colors, as you may already know, are Lava Red Metallic (UZ) and Competition Orange, which is found only on the Boss Mustang.  The Competition Orange goes without saying much and attempting to describe its awesomeness in mere text would only chip at its heritage & racing glory.  The other hue that’s new is sexy, solid black-cherry goodness.  These Lava Red Metallic colored Mustangs are going to turn heads much like the Mystichrome pony cars of recent years.  Up close, the car’s red shades are recognizably hot, but at a distance, the lava cools to a darker shade, nearing complete blackness.

Exciting tidbit number two is that the 2012 Ford Mustang will see a first of its kind option in the form of a Reverse Sensing System.  These types of systems are typically installed on SUVs, pick-up trucks, minivans, and mid to large sized luxury cars.  So is it really necessary on the 2012 Mustang?  Maybe not entirely, but the aim towards safety in all sizes is something Ford is inherently focused upon…and it just makes sense to use the tech if it’s accessible.

The reverse sensing system itself is included in a total security package, which also incorporates an active-theft deterrent system and locking wheel lugs.  The suggested price tag for this package: $695…and it’s available on all trims of the 2012 Mustang.
