The rumor mill is back in full swing once again, with everyone spinning ideas about what the 2013 Mustang (and beyond) will look like and just how much next year’s iteration will pave the way for the 2015 Mustang. Ford Mustang fans are no doubt looking towards the 2015 Mustang and its potential redesign (again), but for now, the focus on the 2013 Mustang design concepts and power train is primary. Not much has been officially released by Ford insofar as monumental updates, but many sources hint at the current Shelby GT500 as the template of sorts for the upcoming Ford Mustang design.
The 2013 Mustang is expected to get a mild redesign–much ado to the Shelby GT500 of today and will boast its larger upper grille, contrasted with a lesser lower grille…LED lighting abounds, also, and will be in-play for the fog lights. Additionally, the taillights are going with a 90-degree perspective as opposed to an “angled afront” setting.
As for the power plant department, the mill states the lineup will remain much the same for the 2013 Mustang, with the 5.0-liter V8 (425hp) and the 3.7-liter V6 offerings to still be going strong. That said, many a mention hints toward the Shelby GT500 getting a healthy bump up to the 620hp mark. Music to our ears…
So, when do we get to see who’s right or wrong? Fingers point toward this November as the LA Auto Show around the 16th or 17th of the month. Until then, we’ll have to keep the buzz boppin’ about the 2013 Mustang, and speculate until our minds tire.
