2013 Ford Mustang BOSS 302 features & highlights

As if the 2011 Mustang and the 2012 Mustang haven’t had enough time both the spotlight and within the crystal ball, Ford keeps trickling out information about the 2013 Mustang…while the ‘mill continues to push out could-be intel on the 2015 Mustang.  So, what do we have here in the now?  Some decent (and concrete, woot!) details surround the upcoming massaging of the Ford Mustang BOSS 302.  The 2013 BOSS 302 is going to get several new hues along with SYNC, HID lighting out front and a slick 4.2″ LCD message center, including MyColor.

In addition to some additional appliqué, the 2013 Mustang BOSS 302 is also expected to get some updates cosmetically…hopefully, we’ll see some hints of what’s to come down the road as we approach the 50th Anniversary of Ford Mustang.

2013 Mustang to inherit current GT500 cues

The rumor mill is back in full swing once again, with everyone spinning ideas about what the 2013 Mustang (and beyond) will look like and just how much next year’s iteration will pave the way for the 2015 Mustang.  Ford Mustang fans are no doubt looking towards the 2015 Mustang and its potential redesign (again), but for now, the focus on the 2013 Mustang design concepts and power train is primary.  Not much has been officially released by Ford insofar as monumental updates, but many sources hint at the current Shelby GT500 as the template of sorts for the upcoming Ford Mustang design.

2015 Mustang – Expect the Unexpected

There has been so much speculation, so much trash, and soooooo many spins on what was going to come up for the “next Ford Mustang” over the past oh, 7 years.  Some said “twin turbo, man” while others said “dude, the 5-oh is coming back”.  Others, not holding opinion to the candle’s flame, have suggested that a simpler, nimbler car will make it into the limelight soon, under the Mustang brand.

We have to sit back and ponder here.  Do we think of the new Coyote 5.0-liter V8 power plant sitting inside the S197 platform forever?  Nay, nay.  If we dared think this is the end, we’d better sign the government (read: taxpayers) loan papers now and just turn in our blue-blooded keys.

2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 details emerge

Well, we all know that Ford is not one to stop within the R&D and product promotion arenas, so it’s no surprise the ground pounding photographers are catching glimpses of the forthcoming 2013 Shelby GT500.  What’s most exciting is the GT500 could prospectively pump out well over 600 horsepower.  Carroll, do we need a name change on aisle 5?  Perhaps…

Many sources are pointing to the fact the trusty supercharged 5.4-liter V8 will be bolstered to 5.8-liters (whoa, 351!) and the Eaton M112 will make its curtain call, leaving room for the next-gen TVS unit while providing more power, less noise, and more efficiency overall.

EcoBoost Ford Mustang on the way

Or at least that’s at least what hints, hopes, and rumors point toward in the upcoming years of the Ford Mustang.  We Mustang fans have to believe that something truly awesome will come on the eve of OR the year of the Mustang 50th Anniversary.  So much goodness has come out of Dearborn and the aftermarket these past few years, it’s gonna be hard to keep the inquiring minds at bay until the time comes…when rumor & speculation are laid to the wayside of truth.

201X Mustang – The Future?

If there’s one thing Ford Mustang fans know all too well, it’s to not be complacent with today’s awesome Mustang GT, Shelby GT500, and other powerful aftermarket derivatives a la Mustang.  We’ve seen a lot of great things happen in 2010 and 2011, with 2012 only adding to the mix with the return of the Boss Mustang 302 and many other awesome attributes.  So now, what do we get excited about in the 2012 Mustang, the 2013 Mustang, 2014 Mustang, and beyond?  Will the Shelby GT500 slide to the wayside with a rebirth of the coveted SVT Cobra nameplate?  Will the Boss remain the king of the road and track?  What happens if the hippies win in D.C. and we step back to 4-cylinder engines, or gasp, electric power plants?  It’s tough to tell, but right now, all we have to say is “the sky is the limit”.
