With recent speculation about a 5.0 liter Ford Mustang, there are many seeking to get ahead of the curve by finding out how to make it happen, here and now.  Until Ford decides whether or not to make a move in the future, we will have to rely on the aftermarket players to get it done.  Saleen, Inc. has recently elected to release its high performance 302 cubic inch premium crate engines for sale via its Speedlab Aftermarket Division.  In either a long block or short block configuration, this installation is sure to appease the need for power held by many engine builders and torque enthusiasts.

The hard-working aftermarket engineers and designers over at Steeda have just released a fine-crafted S197 Ford Mustang suspension masterpiece.  This Watts linkage setup for the latest generation Ford Mustang is the most technologically advanced and one of the highest performing upgrades a pony owner can apply today.  Steeda’s lateral linkage element provides excellent support through movement, replacing the panhard bar and moving all the forces of inertia upon the car to a lower point, increasing capability.

If you haven't yet put your hands around the reins of a Ford Mustang Bullitt, you are about to get increased probability on your side.  With a satisfactory move, Ford has extended the production run of the 2009 Bullitt by adding about 2,100 units.  Dan Jarvis released the details, confirming the figure, adding more McQueen to the Mustang that many enjoyed in 2008.  Just 5,600 Bullitts were produce for the 2008 model year, so 2009 adds more enjoyment possibility for Ford Mustang fans.

There is certainly one more happy classic Ford Mustang owner in North Carolina these days.  Army Captain John Pelikan had just returned from a fifteen month deployment in Afghanistan and arrived to be greeted by his loving family.  Amidst all the familial updates, this honorable Veteran's mother, Tamera, mentioned that his 1968 Ford Mustang was in the shop, having the radiator repaired.  Little did he know, there was much more to the story than a simple fix.

Saleen, Inc. is continuing to serve up aftermarket goodies for the S197 Ford Mustang crowd.  The latest release is the ShakerCharger—a shaker mounted directly atop the Saleen twin-screw supercharger, aimed at providing even better snorkeling for the forced induction setup.

The rumor mill seems to have picked up a little wind to keep churning intel regarding the next Ford Mustang and its potential powerplant.  Facing contenders, the Chevrolet Camaro and the Dodge Challenger, Ford has to do something progressive to keep the fire burning inside every Mustang fan.  Stuff.co.nz recently conducted an interview with Bill Osborne, President of Ford Australia, and sniffed out some details regarding Ford’s initiatives for putting the 5.0L V8 (from the Aussie Ford Falcon) into the next S197 Ford Mustang.

Following her past success in prior NMRA racing rounds, Susan Roush-McClenaghan piloted her Ford Mustang down the strip to prove her strength as a contender.  With a good reaction time (0.014), Susan was able to land in a qualifying spot, where thousandths of a second decided the ultimate fate of the racers in the class.  While Susan didn't take home the top prize, she finished strong against many seasoned competitors, and also remained positive, upbeat, and hopeful in this third final-round appearance in her racing tenure.  Check a closer shot of her ROUSH Racing Ford Mustang and the Official Press Release from the race, inside!
