A new commercial featuring one of the most popular rental cars to ever
grace a Hertz showroom has been released by Ford. The commercial
features a Mustang GT-H
being chased through downtown streets by a lone police car. The Mustang
spins out and stops and we find that two police officers are having fun
recreating their own chase scene and are eager to switch places and try
again. The commercial is right in time for the launch of the new Shelby GT that Ford is releasing with the same power and options as the before rental only GT-H.
The Shelby GT-H Mustang is available only from a Hertz rental showroom,
and comes in one color. The standard black and gold stripes reminiscent
of the classic 1966 Hertz Rent-a-racer program cars. The 2006 version
features an automatic only option with full time traction control so
that the cars aren't abused too terribly. Ford and Hertz saw such a
demand for the popular rental car that they have decided to release a
new Mustang with the same power and upgrades, only this time, they will
offer a five speed version, along with other colors.
The Mustang Shelby GT features a cold air kit and new exhaust to add 25
horsepower to the stock 300 horsepower engine. The upgrades also give
the GT a 10 lb-ft of torque increase as well, giving more low end grunt
to the already stout three valve engine.
For those that were bored with the one color scheme option, Ford now
offers two. Black or White with silver stripes are the available colors
for the new GT. Expect to see the new Shelby GT prowling the streets
soon.
