By now, most "born in the 70s" car nuts are well aware that the forthcoming Transformers movie is going to feature some unique one-off cars of the new Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, and many others. Some spy shots have been tossed around showing the potential for Saleen Inc to produce a spiced-up version of the upcoming Camaro. CarCrazy.com Assistant Editor John Breaux was able to track down Steve Saleen at the 2006 Cruisin the Coast Auto Show in Biloxi, Mississippi to get tell us more about what the future holds (dialogue text below).

As if the most powerful production Ford Mustang doesn't have enough power straight from the factory, Jack Roush's aftermarket company, ROUSH Performance, has laid out some opportunity to help quench the insatiable desire for more power.  Of course, the ROUSHcharger™ blower setup is one solution, but there are some less aggressive options offered for slightly milder applications.  The options are described in detail below, so take a closer look at what Jack's got in store for us...well, at least those of us lucky enough to have a Shelby GT500 in the stable.

We just got word that there is some great work going on over in the CRAGAR shop. The "re-inventor of the wheel" is poised to release a new lineup of special edition automobiles to be available at selected dealerships across the country. Ford has let a few cats out of the bag recently with three new NASCAR pace cars being unveiled to pace three Ford Championship weekend races at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The Ford Edge, the Ford F-150 FX2 Sport, and of course, the Ford Shelby GT500 are all poised to take the track and set the pace for NASCAR circuit participants. The most powerful production Ford Mustang to date, the Shelby GT500, will lead the pack in the Ford 400 racing event.

With over 250,000 Ford Mustangs sold by Ford every year, it is no surprise that owners want to make their cars stand out, and aftermarket companies take advantage of this with their many offerings. If you and your Ford Mustang are headed to Unique PerformanceFest 2006 presented by the Sam Pack Auto Group in Farmers Branch, Texas, on Saturday, October 14, 2006, you will be set to enjoy classic, current and custom cars, as well as motorcycles with racing displays, children's activities, vendors and meet celebrities like Chip Foose, "Crazy Ray" and Chris Jacobs. The son of the famous Ford Mustang racer/entrepreneur, Jack Roush, is set to capitalize on his motorsports career with his first start in the Grand-Am Cup series on October 7 at 2p.m. (Central time). The versatile 33 year old Jack Roush, Junior has made his way from racing go-karts, through drag racing, and now seeks to conquer the twisties at the track in the Grand American Road Racing Association.
