The Cat in the Hat, Jack
Roush, has cooked up some additional popular parts for the S197 Ford Mustang
aftermarket. Following the success of
the Roush 427R Trak Pak Ford Mustangs release, Roush & Company have made
the suspension and brake upgrade kits available for installation on any 2005
2008 Ford Mustang.
The Trak Pak suspension
component upgrades feature fully adjustable rebound front and rear dampers,
allowing for various settings to use on either the street or at the track. Ride height, both front and rear, can be
adjusted up to 35mm (1.4 inches) lower, and up to three degrees of negative
camber can be applied. The kit includes
high tensile strength linear rate springs with tender coils and matching elastomer
jounce bumpers. This kit retails for
about $2500.
The Trak Pak brakes are a
6-piston setup, made of forged aluminum that provides for a great feel under
high stress braking situations, such as the extreme and consistent demand at
the track. Variable piston sizes help to
reduce pad tapering for maximizing brake pad life and resulting in a firmer
feeling brake pedal. Included in the kit
are 14-inch two-piece slotted rotors and up-sized brake padslarger than OEM
and the ones found on the Roush 4-piston brake kit. This kit retails for about $3700.
Roush Performance continues
to seek out the latest and most advanced methods of testing its products, so
the Ford Mustang enthusiast doesnt have to worry too much about lackluster
capability when relying on Roush aftermarket components. With several months and thousands of miles of
testing completed on these kits (and other Roush components), it seems they
know what it takes to survive in the fast-paced Ford Mustang aftermarket. |
