2010 Cobra Jet Ford Mustang

Back in early September, we showed you a video of the 2010 Cobra Jet Ford Mustang making some passes for a test ‘n tune at the Milan Dragway.  During the early hours of the 2009 SEMA show this week in Las Vegas, Ford Racing pulled the coverings off the car and made its debut a kosher occurrence.  A mere 50 units are going to be produced by [the profitable] Ford Motor Company, so the scramble to get a hold of one of these 2010 CJ Mustang specimens will certainly thin out those with slow reaction times.  What’s so great about this car?  It’s a total turnkey racer straight from the Ford Racing catalog; it is equipped with a 5.4-liter V8 & a 3.4-liter Whipple supercharger; it is yet another capstone on the fortress of a legendary Ford Racing past.  Take a closer look at this winner of a drag-car and check out the full story in the Ford Press Release as well.

Vaughn Gittin Jr 2010 Mustang RTR

Last week, we told you about the waterfall of Ford Mustangs to come from the 2009 SEMA show in Las Vegas.  Well, this week, the river has started to rise with the details on the Ford Mustang RTR (Ready to Rock) floating out in plain sight.  Set up with the trending and talented World Champion Drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr, this new 2010 Mustang specialty car is the result of a combined effort between designer Caleb Clark & Classic Design Concepts.  This slick-styled Mustang RTR has received some seriously cool design cues.  One particular point of interest was the rear diffuser update–definitely a nice touch!  The black matte hue helps to offset some of the hue balancing issues many have made note of on the 2010 Mustang.  Various Ford dealerships are going to carry this SEMA special in February 2010 and it will be equipped with a few tasteful upgrades to keep enthusiasts excited: a K&N high-flow airbox, Falken (of course) tires, a Ford Racing damper kit & springs, a Baer braking system, and a tuned exhaust setup.  In addition to the “go goodies”, the Mustang RTR has a few additional touches to the exterior worth noting as well.  An exclusive RTR rear diffuser, front splitter, aluminum rear spoiler, RTR emblems and vinyl all give this pony car a unique racing drifter’s touch.

Most of the time, a Ford Mustang fan is inclined to zone in on one particular paradigm: “go” or “show”.  As a result, many modified Mustangs reach a point to where they are so tweaked and/or pampered, they are relegated to weekend warrior cruising or track-only duty.  So where’s the dualism here?  Why can’t a Mustang fan have the cake and eat it too?

This year at SEMA 2009, Classic Design Concepts (CDC) will take the best of both worlds and mold them into one awesomely capable pony car package.  The main premise of this latest CDC project is twofold: create a concept suited for the racing lifestyle enthusiast with simple tools and track day needs contained right inside the car AND keep the car’s performance & suspension upgrades in check to be aggressive, but not overbearing for comfortable everyday driving.

H&R 2010 Mustang for SEMA

Keeping this week’s East Coast theme cruising on, we wanted to tell you about a slick Ford Mustang event to be held at Virginia International Raceway in Alton, VA.  Over the past couple of years, the organizers of the event have been able to land participating Mustang racers on the pavement at Daytona International Speedway (2007) and Rockingham Speedway & Dragway (2008).  Everyone is ultra-pumped this year to roll onto the world-class VIR and tear up some tires!  In addition to the Mustang racing action, there will be a myriad of other activities to keep everyone in the family occupied & having a great time.  Keep reading to get the details in the Press Release.

Right now, the Woodward Dream Cruise has kicked into top gear and Ford has a lot in store for Mustang fans this year.  Mustang Alley, one of the biggest collections of Ford Mustangs in the nation, will be on display through August 16th, 2009.  Today (Saturday), the Mustang Garage will give Ford Mustang owners the chance to tweak out their cars with some great selections from the Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog and have them installed right on site! Last week, we told you about the sweet stuff going on at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) air show and that the Ford Mustang AV-X10 “Dearborn Doll” was set to be auctioned off.  Well, Ford decided to light up our Friday night with a couple of fiery photos from earlier today showing some 2010 Shelby GT500s ripping up the runway in a blaze with planes buzzing overheard.  We’ve got two of the sweetest shots for you, so be sure to take a look!
