Grab ‘n Go! Ninosport Shift Knob with LeMans Stripes for the Ford Mustang06 Nov

Ninosport LeMans shift ball

The team at Ninosport Mustang Performance & Styling parts has just released a classic race-inspired Retro Shifter Ball with LeMans Stripes.  It is designed to fit nicely inside any 2005 through 2010 Ford Mustang equipped with a manual transmission with the stock shifter still in place.  The LeMans Stripe shifter ball itself is crafted from a high quality resin just like the material used in competition billiard balls, so it is made to last a lifetime.  This resin, aside from its good looks, is also quite functional in the respect that it protects the Mustang pilot’s hand from heat and cold transfer, resulting in improved driver comfort.  Keep reading to get the rest of the details in the Press Release from Ninosport!

Bowles Propane Drag Ford Mustang

It’s no secret ROUSH Performance knows how to design and craft a promising & powerful Ford Mustang.  They’ve done it time and time again with the Stage3, the 427R, and the 540RH, so now, what’s the big fuss all about?  Right in the middle of the SEMA show, the good press at ROUSH has announced they have two Ford Mustang drag cars set to light up some slicks and take on the tree…while being fueled by liquefied Propane.   Yeah, you read it right.  The all-aluminum 5.4-liter V8 power plant originally designed for the Ford GT will be burning the green alternative fuel by means of a bolstered 12.5:1 compression ratio and lots of other goodies.  Intrigued?  We are.  Keep reading to get the details in the Press Release from ROUSH.

Shelby 550HP Turbo Mustang

Shelby 550HP Turbo Mustang

There may be no replacement for displacement, but as contemporary tuning technology has evolved, forced induction has become a very attractive means to an end.  The unfolding saga of boosted horsepower is set to continue onward courtesy of Shelby Automobiles announcing their new turbo package for the 2007-2008 Shelby GT Mustang as well as the 2005-2009 Ford Mustang GT.  This 550 horsepower “Shelby Turbo” setup also includes various handling, braking and appearance adjustments as well.  Developed in conjunction with California-based Turbonetics, this new package is set to have a price tag (installed) of about $22,600.  Sounds a little high to us, but if you look at the list of goodies and consider just what it is you’re getting handed in return, it softens the blow to the wallet…a bit.  Check out the full scoop in the Press Release for more info.

2010 Mustang Rally Car

It’s not uncommon to see a Ford Mustang set for duty as a weekend warrior at the track, being tweaked for road racing, or stalking the tree to make a few 1320 passes.  What we did find unique about the latest 2010 Unleashed video series installation is that somehow, J.B. Niday managed to turn a new 2010 Ford Mustang into a bona fide rally car.  You read it right–a rally car.  Serving as the managing director of Rally America, Niday set up the 2010 Mustang GT with a roll cage, racing seats, a rally computer, off-road tires, and a HID light bar in hopes of winning at the Ojibwe Forest Rally in Minnesota.  So how well did Niday’s 2010 rally Mustang perform?  You’ll have to check out the Press Release and watch the video to find out!

Vaughn Gittin Jr 2010 Mustang RTR

Last week, we told you about the waterfall of Ford Mustangs to come from the 2009 SEMA show in Las Vegas.  Well, this week, the river has started to rise with the details on the Ford Mustang RTR (Ready to Rock) floating out in plain sight.  Set up with the trending and talented World Champion Drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr, this new 2010 Mustang specialty car is the result of a combined effort between designer Caleb Clark & Classic Design Concepts.  This slick-styled Mustang RTR has received some seriously cool design cues.  One particular point of interest was the rear diffuser update–definitely a nice touch!  The black matte hue helps to offset some of the hue balancing issues many have made note of on the 2010 Mustang.  Various Ford dealerships are going to carry this SEMA special in February 2010 and it will be equipped with a few tasteful upgrades to keep enthusiasts excited: a K&N high-flow airbox, Falken (of course) tires, a Ford Racing damper kit & springs, a Baer braking system, and a tuned exhaust setup.  In addition to the “go goodies”, the Mustang RTR has a few additional touches to the exterior worth noting as well.  An exclusive RTR rear diffuser, front splitter, aluminum rear spoiler, RTR emblems and vinyl all give this pony car a unique racing drifter’s touch.

Keep reading to get all the details on the Ford Mustang RTR in the Press Release.

American Muscle pre-painted trim parts

In the event you don’t have the desire to pay a lofty sum to have aftermarket Ford Mustang trim components painted for you by a body shop or you don’t happen to have your very own paint-spraying bay, then you might have stumbled upon the right spot.  AmericanMuscle (AM) just recent opened its paint facility where they meticulously apply Ford OEM hues to any of the aftermarket trim pieces they distribute.  A tedious careful 14-step process of prep, application, and treatment ensures the quality shine and finish anyone would expect from a reputable shop.  To top it off, AM is advising everyone their trim parts will ship the same day as ordered.  Not bad!  Keep reading to get more details in the Press Release.

2010 Ford Racing Boss 302R Mustang

With just under two weeks to go until the 2009 SEMA show, Ford decided to tease us all with an excerpt regarding the return of the infamous 5.0-liter Mustang.  Word of the 2010 Ford Racing Boss 302R spread fast late this week…and rightly so.  This 400hp special edition throwback to the muscle era is a race-inspired pony car well poised to assault the aggregate at any raceway.   The Boss 302R will come in its base form with a sticker price of $79,000 while its upgraded sibling, tweaked with a Grand-Am Homologation package, will post a price of $129,000 for those Mustang racers looking to get into the KONI Challenge series.  There’s not a plethora of “official” details (let alone imagery) released yet and Ford is being intentionally vague here, but keep reading to check out the official dealership notice sent out to let everyone know what’s coming at SEMA 2009.

2010 Saleen S281 Ford Mustang

Back in late July, we saw the latest of the fledgling Saleen Performance Vehicles Mustang specimens, the Saleen 435S.  Now, the Saleen Performance crew has teased exhibited the 2010 Saleen S281 Ford Mustang well ahead of the official debut scheduled at the SEMA show this fall in Las Vegas.  There’s nothing absolutely watershed about the car’s styling and panache, but there is one silver lining in the cloud cover overhead; the highly-questionable rear of the 2010 Saleen S281 has been touched up quite nicely with a lengthened tail and diffuser-esque rear valance.  There isn’t a whole lot out for details right now, so check back with us around SEMA time when we expect the full scoop to be in circulation as result of this Ford Mustang specialty car being on exhibition.

One Step Closer to the next Ford Mustang powertrain05 Oct

6 verus 8 showdown

The rumors surrounding the next power plant for the Ford Mustang have been rolling about for what seems like nearly a decade.  Wait, it has been over five years of non-stop enthusiast & fanatic conjecture!  The updated S197 platform got a minor tweak to the 4.6-liter V8 and the 2010 Ford Mustang received a bit more power from the increased tuning and efficiencies laid forth by Ford Motor Company, leaving everyone asking for more.  So…what’s next?  The Coyote?  Boss?  EcoBoost?  If we had to hedge our bets today, we would likely place some good money on the latter of the aforementioned trio.  Back in August, we told you about the renewed focus in advancing the power & efficiency of the current engine collection across the entire fleet, with downsizing displacement and forced induction being the primary method.  This Ford technical evolution spurred along by Alan Mulally and the team has certainly got a few people’s interest piqued, to say the least.  To help boost some of the excitement surrounding the turbo charged line-up, specifically the EcoBoost V6 engine, Ford has launched a new website to further exhibit the true nature of the new turbocharged powertrain species and just what they are capable of.  This comes straight from the vine of Ford’s Communications group, so get in, sit down, and hang on…the ride continues at www.6versus8.com!
