Midwest Mustang Madness - a Two Day Track Event

Midwest Mustang MadnessFans of the Ford Mustang are going to get one seriously exciting opportunity come this Fall: the opportunity for a weekend of nothing but sanctioned grudge racing on NHRA and SCCA courses.  Positioned, near Omaha, Nebraska, the Mid America Motorplex will host Midwest Mustang Madness -- a full weekend of clinics, racing, and showing off in a Ford Mustang.  Several StangNet Staff members will be in attendance at this coastal midpoint event, so we hope to see you there!

S197 Ford Mustang PMP Line Lock installationContinuing to provide race tech for the S197 Ford Mustang in our illustrated write-up series, the StangNet crew hopes that every late model Ford Mustang drag fan can enjoy our contributions.  In this latest installation, StangNet Staff member DarkFireGT shows us how to eat up some rubber while avoiding a thrashing on the rear brakes.  A PMP Line Lock kit does the trick and allows the Ford Mustang to put on a show in the driveway and heat up the rear tires at the track.  Take a closer look inside, with a video and lots of hi res images available in full detail.

Ford Mustang Shootout - Roush & SaleenTwo of the most prominent names with respect to the Ford Mustang aftermarket are put to the test in this shoot-out video compilation.  The S197 Mustangs in this clip are a 2008 Roush 427R and a 2008 Saleen S281--both formidable competitors.  Take a good look at the sweet video of these two at the track competing in such events as the 0-100-0, the slalom, and the road course.  Who will be the winner?  You'll have to watch to find out!

S197 Ford Mustang Upper Control Arm InstallThe well-known black S197 Ford Mustang has returned to the shop to get another suspension upgrade.  This time, the rear suspension is the area of focus.  This J&M Upper Control Arm (UCA) will eliminate the unwanted control arm flex and also has the ability to change & correct the pinion angle on a lowered car.  Our original StangNet.com write-up (with hi res images on demand) gives a real world overview and interpretation on how to perform the UCA installation on a 2005 Ford Mustang GT.  StangNet Staff member bigcat shows us just how it's done.

The latest results for the Roush sponsored Rehagen Racing team show some promising results, with the No. 59 and No. 60 finishing in the top 10 at Daytona Beach.  For some time, it seemed as though the Ford Mustangs would take spots 1 and 2, but some faulty communications during a late pit stop caused both cars some crucial time losses.  These losses would prove to be detrimental to the two Roush racers, but would still leave them finishing with decent points standing.

Saleen Sterling Edition S197 Ford MustangHow do you make a high performance special edition Mustang even more special?  Start with a Saleen Ford Mustang and celebrate Saleen’s 25 years of existence.  Saleen’s latest steed, dubbed the Sterling Edition, is based on the Saleen S302E Ford Mustang and will have the same supercharged V8 with an output of 620 horsepower and 600 lb-ft torque.

Lots of images of the next Ford Mustang have floated around the ‘Net for over a year now.  From the Guiargio we saw back at the LA Auto show to some forum-dweller’s dreams, we can be a little more at ease (or as good as it gets right now) with some more spy shots of the new pony car, covered in camo.
