Following closely behind the coattails of the 2010 Mustang debuted at the LA Auto Show just weeks ago, and battling the bailout madness comes the refined and renewed 2010 Shelby GT500. The 2010 Mustang saw updates to its physique, interior, and prowess when compared to the current (2005 – 2009) S197 platform, and the 2010 GT500 is going to take those updates to the next level. With more power, more refinement, more excitement, the 2010 Shelby GT500 takes cues from the GT500KR and delivers them in a way only Ford’s SVT division can provide. StangNet.com is proud to present to you with this exclusive look at the new 2010 Shelby GT500 in an array of images and of course, the official Press Release from Ford Motor Company. Could the legendary Ford Mustang get a new bridle to harness its power in order to promote safe driving by those less responsible? It just might, if the program expands across the entire Ford fleet. Starting in the 2010 model year, Ford will roll out the MyKey feature for several of its automobiles. The key contains a computer chip that communicates with the on-board systems in order to control speed limitations, audio system volumes, and even more annoying “fasten seat belt” alerts. Right now, the concept is just a rumor for the 2010 Mustang, but if the popularity grows for the MyKey program, we could see this new bit used on future pony cars. Fine by us…just make sure we have at least one “dumb” key available for the weekend. Continue Reading →
Following the spirit of other aviation themes such as the Roush P-51 Mustang, the latest one-off S197 Ford Mustang is another aviation-inspired racecraft that is sure to put a grin on any grounded pilot’s face. With a number of upgrades straight from the Ford Racing catalog, this highly-decorated Mustang will definitely be a crowd pleaser at AirVenture 2008. The touches applied directly by the men & women at Ford bring this very crisp pony car up to the 400 horsepower mark. A Whipple supercharger, cold air intake, the FRPP Handling Pack, and a hi-flow tuned exhaust all make the magic happen for this special edition Ford Mustang. In addition to the go, this Ford Mustang is also about show. A red-accented satin silver coat wraps around a nicely offset black colored hood and is capped off by a glass roof which exhibits a majestic Air Force Star. Out back, the gas cap also gets the AF Star treatment.
