After witnessing a decisive display of Ford Mustang racing at Hallett Motor Racing in Tulsa at the 2011 Mid America Shelby meet, we knew Paul Brown and the Tiger Racing team had a sweet racing setup on their hands.  Now, after in impressive weekend double header capture at Mid-Ohio, Brown has continued to extend his lead in the Word Challenge GTS Championship.

After the Sunday afternoon race, Brown was both stoked and stamped-out with fatigue, placing the ace as a true “rough & tumble” event after a long summertime break.

Coming up on August 20, 2011 is an annual car show & cruise of world-class American muscle cars.  As always, the Ford Mustang will be represented in fine style, with hundreds of classic Mustangs on display in the car show.  Ferndale, Michigan is the site for all the awesome Mustang sighting and if you have been under a rock for the past several years, then you’d be best advised to head over to Woodward Avenue to catch all the action & fun.  The Ford display is set to hold host (in addition to the 9-mile cruise) a huge classic Mustang car show, a cruising parade, and of course, a glut of fun for the whole family…

Seriously, what’s not to like?!?

As if owning a 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 wasn’t wickedly illustrious enough, Team Mustang and Ford Racing have sweetened the deal for each & every Boss 302 owner a chance to take on the “track attack” opportunity.  This event is a complimentary offering which also involves direct driving instruction from the Ford Racing High Performance Driving School at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.

Seriously, how much cooler can the Boss 302 reincarnation get?  Well-over 400hp, a Jekyll & Hyde persona via the track key, and now, Ford’s official blessing to thrash the track at Miller with the guidance of racing gurus just make it even more awesome.

This Sunday past at Ford World Headquarters, Dearborn MI, the Mustang Owners of South East Michigan put on a great Ford Mustang exhibition which they hold annually.  The “Mustang Memories Car Show” held host to a series of awesome enthusiast and nostalgic events include the Mustang Dream Giveaway grand prize presentation, the National Boss Reunion, and the Bullitt Reunion.  On-site were some awesome Mustang personalities, including Vaughn Gittin Jr., Donald Farr with his spectacular new Boss 302 book, Dave Pericak (Mustang Chief Engineer), and Jamie Allison (Ford Racing).  The show (as always) was a stunning success for everyone involved.

With the closure of the dual-Boss 302 Ford Mustang giveaway on July 4th, there lies a lucky finalist who has the keys to a 1969 Boss 302 Mustang as well as a 2012 Patriot Edition Boss 302 Mustang.  24 year old Thomas Barker from Effingham, IL is the man of the hour for this exciting national sweepstakes.  This Sunday, August 7, Barker will receive the keys to the only pair of matching first and second generation Boss 302 Mustangs in the world.  Pretty cool feat, indeed!

With the heat (wave) of summer in full swing for Ford Mustang fans nationwide, we all know it means getting together for cruise-ins, track events, and most notably–massive Mustang meets.  Unless you have been under a proverbial rock for the past decade, then you’re well aware that Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach, SC is one of the most popular gatherings for Mustang maniacs from all nooks of the country.

This year, the StangNet crew was able to join in the festivities with our latest project car, Built to Cruise, and enjoy all the camaraderie on the Atlantic seaboard.  With over 600 Mustangs on-hand and lots of good racing & shining, BTC was a sure-fire hit with late model Mustang and Fox Mustang enthusiasts.

After a decent bout of showing off all the rides in the show, a series of racing events kicked off and all willing Mustang riders were able to put their money pits on the pavement to show just what the driver mod could do.   The results?  Aside from some serious fun for the whole family, you’ll have to keep reading to get the scoop from the Press Release inside.

On August 6th, the Shelby American Collection will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a flashback focus upon the historic Cobra-Ferrari Wars which spawned the spark behind the American auto industry in the early 1960s.  Every piece of automobilia artwork on display within the museum features Carroll Shelby’s legacy and lineage of work throughout the years, with our faved Ford Mustang definitely making a presence.

A collection of world championship drivers will also be on hand for autographs, 2 of Shelby’s hottest collectible cars will be on-site, ’60s music will be cranked to 11, and there will be an outdoor vintage car show for everyone to enjoy.

Well, if you were not able to get out to Tulsa last week for the 2011 Mid-America Shelby Meet to check out some awesome Ford Mustang specimens, you missed out…really.  Along the spectrum of Shelby Mustangs, AC Cobras, and a grab bag mix of late-model & classic customs, there was a fantastic spread to take in.  So, we’re back from Tulsa to show you but a glimpse of what was seen, heard, and raced…in a breakdown of day-by-day activities as we rolled through the 37th meeting of Team Shelby in Mid-America.

In case you’ve been under a rock for…well, quite some time, we’re here to officially announce the fact our latest project Ford Mustang is currently on the Interstate from Sweet Home Alabama up to Tulsa, OK, for the 2011 Mid-America Shelby Meet.  We hope we are able to run into a few of you at the show & the races, as it’s most definitely going to be an awesome time, as has been in years past.  Built to Cruise (our 2011 5.0 Fox swap Mustang) will be on the prowl and on display, so be sure to stop by and say hello to the team that made it happen!

After the last round of Royal Purple’s Forum Wars, we were once again excited to hear that StangNet was going head-to-head again with My350Z to see just what the Ford Mustang and Nissan coupe, along with the driver mod, had in store for some good ole track competition.  There’s always good fun to be had when you get some good smack-talk in, then get the chance to prove the check can be cashed on the race track.  The Forum Wars pits various Internet communities against each other to see just what car and driver combo comes out on top.

This time around, the racing results ended up with the 2011 Mustang GT … well, just watch the video footage and see for yourself!
