my shifter will not engage all the gears in my automatic. when i jacked up
the car and tried to hand shift it, its fine, i can engage all the gears (evident by rotation of the driveshaft) the cable seems fine, doesn't seem binding up on anything, i do know how to adjust the shifter by attaching it when the trans is in o/d , i notice on the shifter lever the grommet that holds the stud where the cable attaches seems to have a lot of flex in it, is this a dealer part? or do you have to buy the entire lever that goes on the transmission
