Tweecer questions

first off, what is the best tuning aid, many people talk of tweecer. Do i NEED a laptop for a tweecer? Also, will it display a/f ratio so i can get it correct throught the rpm range.? could i say load a computer setup from a a9l computer and make my car run like that? some questions, can i really get peak power output without going on a dyno with this?

1. No You dont "need" a laptop. But that's like saying you dont "need" cable tv to get good reception.....It's almost impossible to use conveniently without a laptop.. You can get an older model with the basics for $300. I got a Dell Latitude P2, 366MHz for $300 in April last year. It does my tuning, and I even got a wireless G card last week to connect to my home network.

2. You can not use it for A/F unless you have a wideband 02. sensor. You can use other data on the programs to "guide" you in air/fuel adjustments througout the rpm range, but it does not "DISPLAY" accurate A/F ratios.

3. You use this in ADDITION to the dyno.. The numbers on the TwEECer are not too useful at WOT...A lot of guys take the car to the dyno with the laptop, run the car, make adjustments, then run it again.

If you have someone with a laptop that you could borrow occassionally, you could use theirs to assist you if you dont want to buy one. You dont have to have the laptop at your side constantly to drive your car.
