Edge just released their AODE Street Edge and I got #3 off the production line. I'm very impressed.

Here's a quicktime video I threw together to show what it did for my car:
Right Click Save As please - Before and After Stall (6.1mb)

Let me know what you think of the video.... and feel free to post this around on other sites. It's a pretty good deal for the AODE guys if you are looking for a nice stall and shift kit.

Oh and the offer expires on the 15th of November, not the video.

Let me know what you think.... and feel free to post this around on other sites. It's a pretty good deal if you are looking for a nice stall and shift kit.

Paul, I am SLOWLY building a 90GT AOD car into a stcok long block, C4 equipped, single turbo setup. When I say slowly, I mean SLOWLY as in I've had the car a year and haven't touched it yet. Anyway, I just bought a used C4 for it and now I need a converter. Once I get a converter, flex plate, and rebuild the motor this thing will be up and running, minus the turbo of coarse. When selecting a converter, should I make this my LAST purchase? I mean, how can they determine the stall speed if i don't know what it weighs and what kind of power it makes? I'd love to throw a converter in there and run it NA for a while, but I can't afford to do it twice. The tranny came with I am told is a 1200 stall stocker. Thanks! P.S.- cool video, it really lights the tires up now doesn't it!

Count me in for one. Although I think I will wait until next month when I have more cash to spare to place my order.

Question on the shift kit: it will only stiffen up my shifts and not allow me to change my shift points right?

I would email andre@edgeracingconverters.com and ask him. I explained to him what I wanted and that I planned to add Heads and a Cam next year. He said he would take that into consideration and adjust the build equation to lean that way.

You're building a turbo car though... and those aren't as "well known" on power like a H/C/I step up is - so I would probably be leaning a bit more towards waiting myself.

My car was just a dog and a half as you can see from the first part of the video. I couldn't see doing ANYTHING else to my car until I had a stall in it. That's the only reason I didn't give up on the previous fugged up stalls and kept after it til I got a good one. I couldn't name any other mod that should come next that I could afford at the time.

Another way to look at this I guess could be that you could buy a stall now and probably get descent money out of it later on ebay or where ever. It would help if you had some before and after timeslips, or even better a video like I made. Burning rubber sells Performance parts.

I like knowing I can sell my AODE stall to a 4.6 guy since they have the dual bolt patterns. Made it easier for me to drop the extra couple of hundred over the crap stalls I had before. The market is so much better than just having a 94-95 stall.

Definately email Andre... he seems like a nice guy that won't just sell you something to sell it. He lost some money on my deal by giving me the street edge over the mild street edge due to his one mistake and knowing what I had gone through before I ordered with them.

(hope this all makes sense, I'm tired and need to get some sleep. LOL)

Good Luck! Glad you liked the video.... it was fun to make.

From what I understand, whoever puts it in can up the pressure to the fluid lines and that can help the shift points some. But yeah it really doesn't allow you to change them much since we have the Electronic version.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

What does your car shift at? My car seems to shift at different points sometimes, but I think it is just that the stock tach is a pos.

Honestly I rarely let it shift anymore. I usually manual shift it. But on the occassion I leave it alone, it'll shift at 5 grand normally. On a rare kick down occassion it'll turn on my shift light (5,500) as it hits second. But it goes back to shifting at 5,000 into 3rd.

I REALLY hate to do this, but group buys must be approved by CHarris before posting. If he already approved this one, just PM me and I'll open the thread back up.

Just got back....

BEFORE we started tuning I decided to try a Flash Stall launch on the street tires. Track was hooking way too good and from a near idle the car bogged a bit instead of spinning.

2.07 60ft
9.18 @ 75.75 - 1/8
14.38 @94.71 - 1/4 New best off the bottle.

We played with the timing... over agressive of course, so lots of detonation to work through... ran a 14.40 and a 14.50 - finally got it tuned in AFTER last call.

I think it has another tenth or two in it. Hopefully if the weather cooperates in two weeks we'll give it another try!

Videos to come later this week.
