turbo swap into a 92- couple a questions

I have found a few articles on the turbo engine swap but all seem to referance using a 87-90 car. I am thinking about doing this swap with my 92 notch but I need to clear up a couple of things. From what I remember when I pulled all the wiring out of my 93 convertible for a 5.0 swap, all the air bag wiring is mixed in with the engine harness. Will replacing my 92 computer with the 88 TC unit affect the operation of the air bag system? I was thinking there was a seperate controller for that but I want to make sure. What about cruise, will that all wotk with the 2.3T? And lastly, can I use the T5 thats in the car now or do I need to get one out of a TC or a v8 car? Oh and lastly again, since I wont be able to do the Volvo intercooler swap right off the bat, will the TC intercooler work under the stock hood?

Subscribing to thread ......... Me need info as well.

I have a 92 notch and a 88 turbo coupe. Both cars run fine. Want to make the notch a turbo.


MrKwik ~ The intercooler will fit under the hood, but will not function properly with no air going by it like in the turbo coupe.

Sometimes I wonder if the tech articles thread is only for decoration...seems nobody looks at it.

Air bag will be fine, cruise control will be fine, T5 trans will be fine...just use the turbo flywheel and clutch.

I think Red_LX and 351wcoupe should rig something up where the link to your website is automatically posted anytime somebody starts a thread with questions in it.

Stinger ..... nothing against you, but i did go there. Alot of the links are either dead or for pre 90. I could not find anything for my 92.

Not flaming here .......... simple question. This would not be a forum if people can't talk about tech questions. Instead it would be used as a "reference" site. Looking how to do this and that. I'm a moderator @ SHOforum.com. I've answered the same questions 100 times over. Its all about helping. I'm sure you have recieved alot of questions while building your car.

Well, that's fine that you couldn't find it...it doesn't mean it's not there. The original sole purpose for my site was for a 91-93 swap page as there was no good info on the subject...

I've answered the same questions a hundred times as well...I know how that is.

Ya, that would make this a real interesting place to hang Kind of negates the whole point of a forum, does it not?

I dont know why I even feel the need to defend myself but whatever. I read through all four pages of the tech article thread. As someone already pointed out, half the links are dead. If we should all refer to the that thread to answer all our questions all the time then maybe on the same token someone needs to keep it maintained. But in my defense, most of the questions I asked were not specifically answered in any of those articles I read,with the exception of the air bag one, I missed that one so shoot me. If someone wants to point out where the rest of those questions were specifically answered I will gladly eat my words.

Stinger, thanks for posting all that great info, your site is a weath of usefull knowlwdge. And Im not trying to be an ass here but I think its pretty ****ty to jump down someones throat for asking a question, and that is mainly aimed at Crovax.
