Should I gut my stock MAF?

I have read so many posts about gutting the stock MAF. The posts are both good and bad. I, like all, am looking to free some power up. I have done all the exhaust work and want to start on the intake side.

I am not pinging yet and really don't want to.

All the posts I have seen argue about the technical details and what the MAF is doing without giving real world examples of "I noticed an improvment" or "that turned my car into a no ideling pinging machine".

Has anyone done this to a 94-95 GT and had any problems or improvements?

Dont do it, Its just stupid. For a little to zero hp gain. The risks are way to great. Just wait and get a pro-m 75mm or 80mm and call it a day. Basically it wont get you ***** and you stand a very good chance of *****ing your car up.
