Post 97 GT PI HEAD SWAP DYNO SHEET INSIDE

Hopefully someone will find this usefull. The car originally dyno'd ~186 HP bone stock and rated at 215 Crank HP.

Before the head swap (everything else already on the car) it dyno'd
213.4 RWHP / 282.6 FT. LB

All in all car feels very fast and strong...and I'm happy with the result. I will be removing the C&L mass air meter and get a new dyno tune. Should be able to squeeze out 270 RWHP.

#'s are looking a little low. I have the mods listed in my sig and made 212 rwhp and 284 rwtq. Most 99+ GT's are making right around 250 rwhp stock right?

Most 99+ dyno around 230-240 RWHP.
The owner of a local Mustang shop dyno'd his 01 5 speed at 233 RWHP stock.

For some reason I thought I remeber numerous people saying there 99+ GT dynoed at around 250 rwhp but you are right that would make no sense since there crank #'s are 260.

What does it take to get 300 HP at the wheels with a PI swap, Porting? Mild/Agressive Cams? Miracle? I am shooting for 300 rwhp in my 98 gt, and I was planning on a PI headswap with either porting or aftermarket cams....whats it gonna take to get to 300?

Pretty much everything you can think of minus a blower. P/P heads, cams, every bolt on in the book, and a great tune. It's tough but it has been done.

The beast is completely street legeal and always pass smog test. The h-pipe has cats and I went with shorty headers instead of long tubes for the same reason. Everything looks stock, you can't even tell that I have new heads and intake unless I tell you.

BTW, I didn't change out the cam to some of the nice aftermarket ones but I know I will eventually have to inorder to break 300 RWHP.

I've even seem them dyno as low as 220-225rwhp, so his numbers are actually pretty good.

if you get every bolt on including long tubes...you could probably do it with VT Stage 2 cams and stock PI heads.

Ls1's are rated at 305-310 (98-02) but they dyno around 290-295rwhp...why would they dyno that high..."that makes no sense"

A stock 99+ Gt 5spd will dyno anywhere from 225-235rwhp...
