Yeah, I've seen that and that's a great way to go. I just really like this Lokar foot pedal assembly. I think I'm going to s-can the kick panel speakers and the vent, use the foot pedal, and put speakers in the doors (deluxe-style hidden) and on the front sides of the console. There's also going to be a dual-cone speaker in the dash center location, so I think that'll cover it. I'm still open to input though.

Forget the sound system. Let those 32 valves play the music instead

The deluxe door speakers are an odd size/shape, and they are heavilly shrouded by the seats and (not to mention the driver's/passenger's thighs) when the doors are closed.

My 1st choice would be the hand-brake too.

I would vote for the floor brake

unless you're going with a console and you need that space. It increases the hooligan appeal quite a bit, and if you're doing a manual tranny (can't remember) it's real nice on hills to have the e-brake to play with on the floor. I know that Frank Bullitt could have used a floor-mount e-brake driving around SF.

Go with the hand brake. Much sportier looking too.

Hand-brake every time - I mean, how many feet do you Americans have to warrant four pedals in a car...?

Sorry to back track, but a few posts back there was a mention of GT350Clone's Lokar hand brake.
Are there any links to pics as I would be interested in going that way myself.

Go to this link and click on the gallery link in the middle. There are two different sections -- before paint and after paint.

Well, it looks like I went against popular opinion on this one...

I just really like the pedal assembly and the hand brake didn't really fit in with what I have planned for the console in this car.

Check out the floor-mount gas pedal too. It uses a cable, and Lokar's making me a custom one with the right end on it for the 4.6.

Thumbs up Black anodized arm?

That would look pretty nice if the arm matched the brake and clutch arm.

Oooh I love that throttle set up.
Is it the Eliminator floor mounted one?
Would it be to much to ask for a shot of the other side? I know there is a pic on the lokar web sight but I'd love to see your one anyway.

It looks like you went with the dark charcoal metallic paint for the interior. Is that the case or just a photographic effect?

Yes, it's the Eliminator floor mounted one. There's another car on the lift right now, but I'll post a pic of the other side when I hook the cable up.

Yep, that's the color. It was a pain to get the paint.

Awesome job. Some very trick pieces going on there. I like your wheel well protection ideas, something that we are wrestling with, weekend ride, vs show car.

The front end will be '67 Shelby with inboard lights. The whole body is '67 Shelby, with '68 Shelby roll bar and interior quarter panels.

I used the same stuff, glad to see you did too. Most folks just use black and I've had countless "arguments" as to what is correct. Personally I think the metallic charcoal is awesome!

Got the wheels in and they're awesome. I think they're the perfect wheel for this car as they look like the '67 Shelby optional Kelsey-Hayes MagStar wheel but in 17" billet aluminum. I'm making '67 Shelby-type center caps for them and they'll ride on 245-45ZR17 Yokohamas.

Hi rm ,
your project is looking great , i have a question about the swaybar setup ,it looks like the bottom of the end links are fastened to the lower control arms or are you using the heidts bracket that bolts to the lower control arm?

They bolt to tabs welded to the lower control arm. It comes this way from Heidt's -- you only use the bolt-on brackets if you're not using coilovers.

I've been workng on making a floor panel for the trunk. It will cap off the fuel cell, protecting the sending unit and fuel pump wiring that protrudes from the top, and it gives me a nice cubby hole to mount the ECU and related wiring associated with the EFI system. I'm going to carpet the whole thing so it looks clean.
