I am a convert- So here goes..some Tweecer questions - (after doing research!)

Fan settings:

fan_high_speed_ECT1_on = 196
fan_high_speed_ECT2_on = 200
fan_high_speed_ECT_off = 190
fan_low_speed_ECT_off = 182
fan_low_speed_ECT_on = 188

I know the basics of what his means but what exactly does ECT1 and ECT2 mean? You would think it would just be "ECT" like the lower fan speeds.

--------
--Eliminating speed limiters--
(entering 16383 for all values effectivly turns off speed limiters)
- Speed limit stage 1 off = 16383
- Speed limit stage 1 on = 16383
- Speed limit stage 2 off = 16383
- Speed limit stage 2 on = 16383
- Speed limit stage 3 = 16383

Ok, great, I know what to put in for the values but why are there 3 stages of limits and what do the mean?

-----------

Set your base timing by the distibutor back to 10*. All of the timing tables in CalEdit are based on 10* base timing and it is included in the values you see.

Ok, set the base timing to 10 degrees. Now how do I set the timing to say..14 degrees?

-------
Here are some of the n/a mods I think I will be able to change. What does "Za0" mean? Can anyone recommend a basic set up for my car using these variables? Should I change my air/fuel ratio with timing? Are these dumb questions? I hope not, lol. Thanks.

ZA0 (94-95) Basic setup

SCALARS

- Checksum Base Address = 0
- Engine Displacement = Actual CID or leave alone if stock bottom end
- Fuel Shut-off Deceleration Minimum ECT = 254 (disables)
- Fuel Shutoff Shifting Minimum RPM = 2000 rpm
- Fuel Shutoff Time to enable = 1
- ISC Maximum Closed Throttle Idle = 100 rpm higher than the desired idle
- ISC Maximum Drive RPM = depends on stall, cam, etc..
- Idle in Gear = depends on stall, cam, etc..
- Idle in Neutral = depends on stall, cam, etc..
- Injector Slope Hi/Lo = actual injector size & actual injector size * 1.2
- MAF Voltage Max/Min = 4.9999 & 0
- Spark Retard for Knock Sensor = 15 or higher depening on if S/C, NOS, Turbo or NA
- Fan Speeds = taylor to your needs
- Manifold Volume = no valid data for positive affects
- Max Spark Retard = 15 or higher depening on if S/C, NOS, Turbo or NA
- open_loop_delay_hyst = 0
- rev limits = taylor to your needs
- spark adder global
- spark_min_for_tip-in_retard = 15 or higher depening on if S/C, NOS, Turbo or NA

For the timing, go to "Global Spark Adder" in the scalars menu and put in a value. Say you want your timing at 14* and your base is at 10* right now, so just stick in a 4 for the value. If you want 8* and you're at 10*, just stick in a -2.

To change the A/F ratio I would go into the functions menu, then go to the MAF transfer and adjust thoes values there. Say you want a 10% leaner mixture, take the number on the bottom row, lets say 100 for ex. and multiply it by .9 to get 90 so its 10% leaner (100 x .9 = 90), if you want it 10% richer, multiply it by 1.1 to get 110 (100 x 1.1 = 110)

FWIW, ZA0 is a Cobra R tune. You want to use either T4M0 (GT) or a J4J1 (Cobra) tune. Make sure you're using the CBAZA strategy as well.

Here is a thread here on stangnet that has some AWESOME twEECer info on it.
http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=319429

I learned a lot from that thread. Good luck

Here are a couple of good ways to find info for your self tuning research.

1) The faqs section of ALL sites ... not just the tuning sites. Believe it or not, even this site has a nugget or two of golden info like this example.

http://forums.stangnet.com/showthrea...9&page=1&pp=25

2) The search engine on the various sites can help you to key in on 94-95 specific pcm info by using the names of those specific peeps when you get to know which peeps have the same pcm strategy like you.

Here is a thing NOT to do which I did and wasted a LOT of my time when I first got started.

As everybody knows, 95% of the info about Stangs is for cars other than our cars, lol. Don't waste your time trying to learn about the pcm in those cars. Stick to the 94-95 pcm family of CBAZA which have the catch codes of ZA0 cobra r, J4J1 cobra, T4M0 gt manual trans, U4P0 & W4H0 pcms are for auto trans cars.

Start lunking around those places and you'll find what you need to get a basic grasp on how our pcm's work.

btw ... there is a small amount of info on my site but it pretty basic and does not go into much detail but it would be helpful for a noobie.

Good Luck to you and....................

become good friends with the best resource tool at your disposal SEARCH

I am still reading your replys but much thanks 1105! Your answers are clear and knowledgeable. CMan is the man as always! I have been to that site already but I may need to looks at it closer. I think I would be the T4M0 tune then b/c I do not have 24# injectors yet, just 19#. Final5-0, I am still reading your post but want to say thanks!!

edit: "Stick to the 94-95 pcm family of CBAZA which have the catch codes of ZA0 cobra r, J4J1 cobra, T4M0 gt manual trans"

This helps alot and yes I have and still doing major searches. Does anyone know why are there 3 stages of speed limits or what exactly does ECT1 and ECT2 mean?

More ques:

Why does the manual say install the driver and then uninstall? That is confusing. Why would I uninstall it after I install it?

After I get to the point of setting the strategy, do the 4 default settings automatically program some ideal values for my car or are these places where I am supposed to create them?

The manual states:

"For 99.99% of the applications the Four 2 Bank Program mode will be the
choice needed and this is how the TwEECer is shipped requiring no
action by the user. Your TwEECer must have the 00E firmware to have
this feature, otherwise CalEdit will report this feature unavailable."

Yet it says that:

"Setting Bank Count - 84-95 has 1 bank"

WTH does that mean and isn't that contradicting itself?

Last of all, where can I download the T4M0 file? I guess I can just do a read too.

The files used to be on the tweecer.com website in the downloads section...however, I think that at some point the got dropped, or something so they may not be there.

Set it to "Two 4 Banks" under the utilities tab. It tells how in the manual, I can't remember off the top of my head.

I don't recall the manual saying install and uninstall, but I think I plugged the twEECer into the computer before it was on the car, and it automatically found it and installed it.

Here's the link to the T4M0 file:
http://f3.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/0E5SQ7G...iginalT4M0.ccf

found on this site:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/tweecer/

EDIT: You might need to set up a Yahoo account to get into that site.

Hi CManT1914 , the first link does not work. The second one I am on already. It is not very helpful so far though. I think the manual may have been showing inexperienced windows users how to uninstall the driver. The manual's documentation on that section is real bad though and makes it look like you are supossed to uninstall right after you install.

"Set it to "Two 4 Banks" under the utilities tab. "

Ok.
