I decided to convert over to a fully manual valve body c4 from my five speed due to the fact that I race my car a lot with nitrous and it is a lot more reliable than my friends car who has the same setup. He has already broke a 3550. If you race your car a bunch go with a auto, if not stick with the manual. |

Listen to me or not, me personally, NO AUTO. | *gasp*
I agree. I'd much rather see a skilled driver slamming those gears than a car shifting itself. Wheres the fun in that? Just sit there push the gas and hold on? No way. MANUAL ALL THE WAY.

well sorry to disappoint all of you stick shift guys cause I'm going with a c4 or AOD with manual valve body, there is too much stuff to break on a manual if I over rev or miss a gear, I've spent soo much money on my stang (more than 10k on the parts, with all my hard earned money). So I just don't want to be replacing clutches because they will wear out and I don't have unlimited funds. Its my decision so please don't flame me for changing my mind, I sat down and looked at all the options and came up with it myself.
FrankenStang, Yes I prefer manual but this car has the potiental to run into the high 9's with the blower I plan on putting on it. And I'll have a stick shift 06 mustang GT in july so I'm not losing

Good choise
Transbreak and a good conveter and it will not disapoint, just fly off the line.Or you can use it to initiat large smokey burn outs that last through 3rd gear
PA if a C4,Lentech if AOD

Hey I would never knock someone fo their opinion... I just disagree with them...
But in the end you chose what you want. When I see your car go down the track, ll watch, go oh, ok and walk away. If you were slamming gears to low 10s or high 9s, Id have to look into the car more, and compliment you on your driving. Thats just how I am...
For anyone into NMRA racing, a LOT of the drivers known for their driving (Bangin Bob Hanlon, Bob Cosby, Burcham, etc...) are all known because they slam gears. But too each his own, you will be happy with the auto if thats your thing!!! |

If there's gonna be alotta track time ... my vote goes to G-Force T-5 with straight cut gears. Those gears aren't the greatest thing for a DD ... but hey ... neither is 500+ HP!
Ultimately, though, it needs to be what YOU want. |

haha I hope that doesn't happen, I'll never hear the end of it from him! The reason he wanted me to get the auto is he wants me to do bracket racing on the weekends, which I don't really want to do. I'd rather just have fun at the strip. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
