Went Drag Racing last night...96GTvs04Z06 vid

Well I went racing last night. Had fun and got to see what the car could do. The guy that i can't stand that just bought the 04 commemerative edition Z06 was there. He didn't want to race me. Finally I waited for him to go line up and followed him hoping to get to race heads up. We did . Here's the vid.

There were three Z06's out there. A 2002, 2003 with HCI and NOS, and the Stock 04 Z06 I raced. I'll set the stage a little. The 02 was running 13.4-13.5, the 03 with the mods was running 12.6 and the 04 was running 13.2-3 before I raced him. I was running 13.2-13.3 too. Temp 102F, corrected altitude was 5386ft. Me running 6psi and him stock 405hp. I thought she was gonna be a close race. I'll reserve comments until after some see the vid. Sorry about the quality, photobucket sucks but it's all i can use.

As I watched I was hoping you'd pull on him past the 1/8th but just heald pretty steady, good run tho. Atleast it was close, and consider what he payed for that car, and only got you by a little.

I lost it roght out of the hole on him. I had a crappy 60ft, 2.1. I'm still trying to get used to the torque of the KB. He beat me by 3 tenths at the top end. I was pulling ever so slightly on him but it wasn't enough. it is a dad and his son that share driving duties, i raced the Dad. Of course that was his best run of the night, 12.975. I finally smartened up on my last run and ran a 13.09 but still no 12. I'm gonna up the boost for the next set of races hopefully and put a 12# pulley on, pick up some extra ponies. Still was fun, now I just have to suffer for a few weeks after losing to him.

Dang man that sucks . Wish you would have beat him, but ehh you cant win them all. I recall saying that you probably wouldnt beat him lol...Z06s are pretty bad stock.

So let me get this straight, your car with 6PSI is just as fast as my N/A GT since your @ 5500' alt? And Im also trapping right with that Z06? WOW

It's sad. We're a division 6 NHRA track and when our members hit the west coast races like the Seattle National Open a lot break out of their classes. We are so used to running in crappy air the cars love it when you get close to sea level or just cooler air. My best trap last night was 109.47mph. I bet your car wouldn't even see a 13 second time slip at our track, it sucks. Up here high 13 second cars would be easy 12 second cars closer to sea level. I'm hopefully gonna take my car to Mission B.C. once to see what she'll do, Mission is actually below sea level so that would be pretty cool to try.

I must say you have a pretty quick car Tweeked!
Did you get your tuning straighted out on your car?
You are trapping very close to a Subaru STI congrats.

Still no tuning fix. I honestly don't want to look at the car except to drive it. When she goes to sleep for the Winter I'll take it apart and try to figure out what's wrong. I'm gonna see if I can run a 12# pulley safely on the tune I do have right now. If i'm only seeing 6#'s now on a 9# pulley then hopefully i can see 9#'s on a 12# pulley .
