| | | bet you've never seen this 2v intake manifold http://www.modularfords.com/articles..._Intake/1.html
It's called the Logan Motorsports 2v intake manifold. I've already called and asked them about the intake. It costs $1095 which isn't too bad considering its looks and that you don't have to buy a plenum. It DOESN'T fit under the stock hood, it looks very tall from the pictures. They are made to fit with a cobra/bullitt throttle body. 18rwhp at peak and 33rwhp at 6500rpm and that's over the accufab plenum on an N/A engine.
I'm thinking about getting one since I've already got a 4" hood but it wouldn't be until a few months, but I might just use that money to get my headers installed and some more bolt ons. |

That looks like the sort of thing I could make in my backyard.
A real, higher budget, company needs to research and produce a GOOD one. I know there is plenty of power on the table. |

That's the cheapest replacement intake manifold I've seen. I think the cheapest ones I saw in MM&FF was somewhere around $1200. |

It came out several years ago. That is called a sheetmetal intake for those who said it looked homemade. That's what they look like. I had one in my shop when they first came out and the build quality was excellent.
Version 2 of the LMS intake has been made and tested now and it has shown over 30 RWHP gains up top on N/A 2V cars. |

Read the article though. It was dyno'd on a PI swapped engine with a .020 overbore, ported heads, cams and whatnot.
Probaly wouldnt do squat for a near stock or bolt on engine, at least not for the price. |

These were cars at other shops I know that were tested with the LMS version 2 intake. Anytime you have a motor with ported heads and more displacement, you are going to benefit from a good intake manifold even more. The guys at Matt Hill Motorsports had a stock bottom end nitrous 2 valve car that made an additional 42 peak RWHP with the addition of this intake manifold. But the track is where it's at, so until I see some track times from this, it's hard to say. |

Yep, sheetmetal intakes are where its at ...if they are built right ofcourse. That looks simular to whats used on the pro mod drag cars haha.
I wouldnt mind having it....but the thought "how much power do I need????" comes to mind LOL
Ill be pushing the bottom end as it is haha. |

shetmetal intakes is what is on serious fuel injected motors, they all look like that, that is a high quality intake.. if you see one of those intakes on a car your about to run you can bet it's not close to stock.
BTW why talk about what it will do on a stock motor.. that intake is not intended for a stock motor.

Yeah, I've talked to some of these aftermarket intake manufacturers and they have told me when they are designing these intakes, they really focus on having it make the best power with a power adder or a heavily modded N/A motor.
They will do some testing with it on relatively stock cars just to get some baseline numbers, but they know like we do how hard it is to squezze a bunch of power out of these 2 valves on motor alone. These 2 valves just like the juice or boost. |

I dunno about that one but in one of my new mustang rags there is an add for a new 4.6 upper intake manifold. Seems pretty cool, but it seems like it's more for nitrous and other power adder users. Not sure if this info has hit SN or not just yet. Looks race only though.
Here's the link, you have to scroll about 3/4 of the way down to the Ford section. http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_.../manifolds.pdf

what the heck kind of tubeing would you use to hook that up to a blower on our cars? looks like it might be difficult to do since the inlet is facing front. |
