35th part question

I am looking for a new hood insulator for my '99 GT and came across this one

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...99&catalogid=2

How is this different, besides the price, from the base GT hood insulator also listed in the drop down menu on the side of the page. Didn't know if any of you guys could look at your special editions and describe it. Mine just has the pony running in the middle of it.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

All GTs have the same insulators with the pony on the center, that seems pretty expensive for a cheap piece of insulation....

that's what I thought. I just couldn't figure out why there was a big price difference between the 35th anniv one listed and the base GT one.

I've heard of people painting their hood blanket with a heat resistant black ceramic paint and loving the results.

Mine looks pretty dull, I am going to hose it down with F21/Armor all or just paint it.

Here is a quote from SVT Perf

"I just used flat black spray paint I bought at Home Depot. The fibers absorb the paint, so it's not like it's going to peel or anything. Take it off, shake it off, shoot it and reinstall it. It made it look like new."

Cheap alternative to getting a new one in the mail that could be wadded up in a ball or something worse.
