"Basics" about the Mach1?

Alright I just got me 03 Mach1 5 spd. I was just wanted to know a few, "basics". Gear ratio?, Whats the widest tire I can put on the rear on the mach1 rims? Do they come with a performance shifter? Mine has one and I love it! I know I have alot more questions I just can't remember right now! I also know I can search the net and find these answers but thats pretty time consuming so I figured I would ask my Mach1 hombres. Drop some knowledge on me.

3.55 gears stock. No, the stock shifter is crap, so if you've already got an aftermarket one that's a big improvement. On the stock 17X8 rims people have put 275's on their rims but their will be some bulge out on the rim. If it was me, I'd do 265's just to be safe, or get a 9" and go really fat. Your stock 5 speed will dyno 275-282 RWHP on a dynojet. Catback, Midpipe, CAI, and a dynotune will have you right at 297RWHP.

Everything Crzyhrse posted is right on the money. While Stangnet is a great place for general Mustang information, try visiting www.mach1registry.org, for everything you want or need to know about the 2003-2004 Mustang Mach 1.
