TPMS Swat

My local tire swap outfit wants to charge me $100 to swap the TPMS bands on to my new wheels. I am already paying them to do the tire swap and mount/balance.

Is it worth $100?

i'd pay the 100, if not resetting the monitor on the dash will drive you crazy.

I'll assume that they are providing the new bands, since you can't swap the stock ones. If so, $100 for four new bands and the labor to install them is pretty reasonable.

No need to reset any light when swaping your stock sensors to new wheels. I've done it. To actually swap the sensors with the American Muscle kit it took me about 20 minutes to do all 4. $100 bucks sounds a little high. Maybe 40 or 50.

Now if that INCLUDES the bands and everything, then that is VERY reasonable.

They did the swap this morning. New wheels and old tries. I had them move the rears to the front until I can afford new shoes. They did use new bands as they said it was illegal to use the old ones...I dunno or really care.

Illegal eh? I'd write a letter to the Attorney General's office in charge of consumer affairs. That's total bull ****nit.
