One of my favorite cars at the Ultimate Track Car Challenge was the Dave Martis Mustang. The car started life as a 1998 V6 car, and Dave picked it up with a salvage title. Then things got a little crazy. This burly Stang now has a Tiger Racing carbon body, a Griggs suspension and a remote Squires Turbo System, which means the turbo sits behind the driver. Dave kindly removed the cover so I could get a shot of it, which you can see after the jump. The 4.6 aluminum block is built up with mostly Ford Racing stuff, at a cost of around $15k. With the Squires Turbo System it's putting out 658 hp at the wheels. Dave said the car is a beast to drive and was hitting 160 mph in the straights. He placed placed 9th in Independent Study Varsity class with a time of 2:00.416. I shot this video of him backing the car around before putting it in the trailor at the end of the day. I really dig the Kawasaki racing green paint.
