First start with vortech s trim

In a day or so im going to be starting my car with an s trim for the first time. Is there anything I need to double check or any suggestions of something I might have forgotten before I do any damage?

Make sure your timing is right and DONT rape that car too hard without a tune. Do gradual increases in RPMS so you dont denante it too far and blow up. Make sure all your vacuum lines are connected and have lots of fun

Its teh car in my sig, plus an s trim with #42 injectors, 80mm maf and stock plugs @.035. Also I am trying to figure out what belt I need for the accessories. I have the crank, altenator, smog idler and power steering. I cant find a belt to work with the tensioner properly. Any ideas or do I have to reinstall the a/c pump?

Yeah I have gotten belts that fit its just that with out the tensioner they are on really tight. I loosened the p/s to get them on and the car can be ran without it slipping but as soon as you put the tensioner on it pushes the belt too close to the water pump.

What I'm doing when I first start mine with the s-trim is prob let it run for a minute without the belt, so the inside of the blower gets nice and lubed up so it doesn't dry start till it gets the oil all over in there, I've also seen people disconnect the oil line from the blower and let the oil run in a bucket to make sure the oil's coming out and any air is out of the line but you can decide on that.

A wideband is always a good idea with forced induction tooo

if your getting serious i would consider a wideband and getting the car tuned....
your s trim kit should have come with the BTM box,and FMU, if you want to run untuned the FMU should give you the extra fuel and you have control of ignition retard....

keep her a little fat and be modest on the timing and it should be alright... but a tune would make the car drive better and have more power.

i started tuning my car with a a tweecer and have had nothing but good come from it, better drivabilty, power and etc, still working on things but its 100x better than when i ran the car untuned...

Yea actally I dont have the fmu or the msd box. I just figured I could get away with having it tuned with the right injectors and maf. But yeah im going to bring it to a performance shop and have them mess with it on the dyno.

yeah having the computer tuned with larger injectors and etc is the best way to go and you can ditch the FMU and BTM. all the fuel and spark can be done within the EEC and its the better way to do it
