How much can stock rails support?

In a forced induction application how much HP can the stock rails support? anyone have any ideas?

i was tols around 550 was all they would safely support

That greatly depends on a few things....especially if your talking rwhp. For example, a turbo setup typically can support more rwhp with the stock rails than a supercharger due to less parasitc losses. Another factor would be what fuel pressures your running and if your have an FMU.

To more directly answer your question...most supercharger setups seem to max the stock rails around 450-500rwhp while turbo's dont hit the max from 500-550. This of course is a rough estimate...and some have gotten away with more/less.

Thanks guys. Do any of you have any suggestions or recomendations on aftermarket rails that wont break the bank.
