The black community hasn't been treated as second class in the mainstream for a while now. Every 10 years is leaps beyond the last. I don't see blacks at the back of the bus or white only water fountains. Black people with less experience take jobs from whites due to affirmative action.
Disclaimer...I'm going to an extreme here but I'm not bitter. I understand some of Obama's plans my be viewed as socialist but to have a capitalist democracy survive there has to be some charity. You risk having absolute power, IE people with all of the money, corrupting absolutely. I sure as hell would rather have charity here than some god-forsaken burg in a ****ing desert on the other side of the world.
The rantings of a mad black woman aside, I've weighed the issues, good and bad, and decided that Obama has the better plan. At least his outweigh the bad in my mind.

You're apparently holding on pretty tight to your money though. You never did explain why YOU are not paying for your sister to have health insurance if she needs it so badly. Oh, I see, do as I say not as I do. Obama's obviously your man!

My family believes that charity begins in the home. So, you never did explain why you're not taking care of your sister's health insurance.

There are only one set of numbers that count. No reason to feel anything until Nov. 5th. Quote:

I'm going to check out that link.

So there’s a Govt. plan already in place to help them that they’re not taking advantage of, but you think it’s a good idea to create another one. Why?

Jim, I’ve spoken with you a few times in different forums over the years and while it seems our politics may clash I hope your stay here isn’t brief. |

Screw the American way, with Obama we can just take from those who earned a good living to those who do nothing to earn a good living.
I am by no means rich, I didnt grow up rich, when I was a kid my family couldnt afford to run the AC in the summer. But I had good parents who instilled good values, and valued a good education. They worked hard to provide my sister and I with a college education.
I have been on both sides, I am now 28 and own my own company and between my wife and I who is a nurse we are bordering the 250K mark. Not quite there but hopefully with more 60 hour weeks of work I will get there just so I can give almost half my earned money to those who dont work 60 hours in 6 months. |

Seems like they forget the part about hard work and perseverance. Most successful people have invested a lot into becoming successful. Applying themselves to their studies, going to college and not partying all the time, maybe sacrificing time with family and friends, working long hours, saving and investing in their business, etc. etc. You would think that a $250K+ salary just all of a sudden falls into somebody's lap like the lottery. Oh, what luck!!! |

My family believes that charity begins in the home. So, you never did explain why you're not taking care of your sister's health insurance. | Not to take sides here, but if I read things correctly his sister has a precondition and can't get approved for health insurance. So even if the neighbor down the street wanted to pay for it, if she can't get approved, it doesn't matter.
Under Obama's plan: Quote:
Q. What if I have a pre-existing condition?
A.This guaranteed eligibility will apply to all private and public insurance plans, whether they are offered in the National Health Insurance Exchange or outside of it. No insurance companies will be allowed to discriminate because of a previous bout with cancer or some other pre-existing illness.
| So while under Obama some would be taxed if they make more then $250,000 and hate it, for this guys sister, Obama becoming president would be a god send.
IMHO, Health is everything. Without it, you can't enjoy life. This is a big deal for me too as Diabetes runs in my family. Obama's health plan greatly appeals to me. |

Well, he did say this, so I assume he's got a pretty healthy income: Quote:

I believe in a past post he said he has another sister and her husband who can't afford it.
Regardless, I'm done trying to have any further dialog with him since: Quote:
