| | | Horsepower?
I have recently purchased quite a few parts waiting for the winter to install. I have accumulated GT 40s not Ps, a BBK 70 mm Throttle Body, 95 Cobra Upper/Lower, 24lb injectors, Pro M 75 MAF, BBK Shorties, O/R H pipe, Flowmaster Catback, and to finish it off 3.73s for the rear. What do you guys think horsepower will be to the wheels? And are there any other parts that i should get to finish this project off? |

cant really say. im assuming you might hit 250rwhp at best. the cobra intake makes a great torque band. depends on how its tuned. itll be fun in the begining once you start |

You have a lot of the same parts as a typical 94-95 Cobra
The differences would be
1) meter
2) tb
3) OR mid pipe
4) shorty headers
I don't see much of a gain ... if any ... over the Cobra power with 1 & 2
IMHO ... #3 would be the big gain item followed by #4
I'd say about 10 more than what ever a Cobra puts out
I would'a kept the OEM tb and put that money towards a cam
and some springs that would support it
Then again ... it has ... ALL TO DO WITH ... your specific application

Ok maybe I am missing something here so correct me if I am wrong. If a stock Cobra makes 240 flywheel hp. And like grady said this combo is almost the exact same combo minus the shorties and off road H pipe. Add these two items in and give say another 10hp-15hp. How do we arrive at 245-250 rear wheel hp? I think you guys mean fwhp correct. Because if hes putting down that much rear wheel hp that would mean at hes at 280-285fwhp.
I think the correct answer here is about 213-215rwhp. |

I think the correct answer here is about 213-215rwhp. | I can't be certain
as
I've never paid much attention to all those Cobra threads
but
IIRC ... They were a bit under rated from the factory
IIRC ... I've seen some OEM equipped Cobra owner's report .......
Dyno pulls in the range of 235 to 245
Honestly ... These "How much HP threads"? can be very misleading
So much can come into play that can + or - the results
Never the Less
You can kinda go by the trends IF you gather enouth data

Based off the cars I've dyno'd, I'd say well tuned around 225-235rwhp on a MustangDyne dyno.

port workz is selling a 302 topend kit that comes with strikeforce heads, timing chaing, emerson cam, and all the bolts and gastkets. Its only 1400 bucks. Search top end kit on ebay. The guys name is brian. that will give you the HP you are looking for. GT 40's are barley a stock upgrade. I also suggest going with LT BBK headers, or any long tube for that matter. |
