Top Things to Do Before January 2009

Just for the fun of it, what are the top things you are planning to do before the new Commander in Chief takes office?

Mine: Buy the AR-15 that I've always wanted but never had the money to purchase while I still can... even though every manufacturer is out of stock. Bring on the zombie apocalypse baby!

I'm going to a gun show the weekend after Thanksgiving. If there are any Ar15s there I will more than likely be bringing one home. If not, I'm thinking about a CETME G3 or at the very least an AR15 reciever, that I can build around later.

+1 Done, still buying ammo though. Also thinking about an SKS and a generator.

My top thing to do is stop paying my mortgage so I can re-negotiate my loan (with the gubments help) on my house since the value has gone down.
I am paying for it. I might as well get a piece of the action.

Guns/ammo are ample and potent. No worries there.

BTW try finding .40 s&w bulk rounds anywhere. Like hens teeth.

I am lucky I bought an ak-74 a while back which uses the 5.45X39 round. Very popular military wise, not so much in the private sector. I get rounds whenever I need them for cheap. $170/1000 rd tin.

nothing Barry has already stated he isn't going after guns. Even if he does, he won't be able to do it right away

all of that will take a back seat. Its the agenda's that they are going to push hard for, such as gun control. This whole economy thing is not a problem for the democrats and the left. Its what they want. They want the American public to be dependent on the government and to always need their help and assistance. They want to create more programs to "help" all these people hence growing government.

The only real "Change" we will see if the left gets what they want is it will be harder for honest people to get guns and longer to do so b/c you wont have as much in your pay check due to more tax's

Put it this way, Obama ran on the whole middle class tax cut issues but when it comes down to it he does not really intend on helping anyone. They all want the public to "need" the government so in hind sight things such as gun control are much more important then tax cuts and helping the middle class b/c they have they economy where they want it, now they just have to get the gun issue under control

Agreed. With the trends leaning very pro-gun right now and the ass kicking the democrats took after the AWB of 94, I don't see them going after any meaningful anti-gun legislation.

They won't risk their majority over the gun issue.

Guys I hate to tell you this, but if you haven't already purchased your AR, it may be too late. .223 ammo is selling like MAD. Empty shelves are everywhere, leaving only +$20 for a box of 20 rounds.

Its been like that for awhile, but when I'm at the gun show cases are all over the place.

People are overly fearfully right now.

The suppliers I know are completely out of lowers. When asked, one quoted a 6-8 month lead time on a Rock River bare receiver.

Its not only people fearing that they will lose their guns its the fact that they are doing it for protection b/c they know our president elect Messiah has jello for a spine when it comes to terrorists and many now fear our war on terrorism that we are now fighting abroad may soon become a fight here at home

The thing I'll make a point to do before January is sit down for some quality time with my wife and a nice few bottles of wine.

With all the talk about buying ammo in bulk, I'm surprised no one has mentioned just going out a buying a re-load kit. I know I have mine, so I don't have to worry about relying on Wally-World to supply my home protection.

As for what to do before January... enjoy the holidays because nothing is going to happen, just like the great computer scare of 1999/2000

Yah, congress is well known for dealing with what needs to be done and ignoring inconsequential matters......
