how reliable are the 03-04 mach 1s

looking to get back into a mustang, ive had 3 gts, 01,03, and 06. Got rid of the 06 due to financial issues. Been looking for an 01-04 gt coupe, found an 03 mach 1, black with gold decals for 12,900 however it has 93,000 miles on it. i had no trouble out of the previous 2v motors, did have an oil leak on the 3v, i have no experience with th 4v motors, any help would be great

Only problems I have had out of mine were the fault of the previous owner who abused her or when one of my mods has gone a bit astray.

I put just about 60k miles on mine, with no problems other than normal maintenance issues. Ran a 100 shot of nitrous on it for about 4 years. Of course, now I'm starting all over again, since I had a new supercharged Aluminator motor installed recently.

I'm curious--was it equipped with an automatic or manual transmission?

Only trouble I've had with mine is keeping rear tires on her!

Machs are reliable. Unless you're going to be adding boost or running nitrous for an extended period of time, the 2nd and 3rd synchronizers are the only thing to worry about, and that's only if you abuse her.

With 93K on it, I'd say if their was any sychro problems it was taken care of long ago, most likely under warranty. The only thing you need to worry about is the wear and tear items, and how good or bad of a life the car has had. Mine's been trouble free, but it only has 25K on it. I did a 4,000 roadtrip this past summer. It drove like a wet dream.
