Got a new Stang

The 2.3 left me on the side of the road one day. It turn out that I needed a new pilot bearing. While taking out the tranny and everything else I saw that the clutch fork was in bad shape. I ordered one from 5.0resto and it said that it would be there the next week. But it turns out that the fork was on back order and it took a month for me to get it. So I had nothing to drive in the mean time. My buddy was letting me drive his car to and from work but I needed something else. I needed something more reliable and sporty. So I got a 2008 BULLITT

Man what a jump from the 105hp 2.3 Fox to a 315hp S197. It is such a fun car; I love the looks in and out. I was able to get a pretty good deal on it too, at invoice price and 0% financing for 72 months. I had to get a garage for it of course. But so for its been great. I hope to get the 2.3 back on the road some time next week. My buddy has been letting me keep it in his garage, which has been a lifesaver for me. I owe him big time for letting me keep it there. Well guys take it easy.

Wow, talk about an upgrade! That car is gorgeous! The clean, understated look is so refreshing compared to the masses of S197s with gaudy body kits out there. Does the Bullitt come with Ford Racing lowering springs? From your pics it doesn't look like it has the Skyjacker suspension that most stock S197s look like they're sporting.

The BULLITT has been lowered 6mm in the rear. I think its the 18" rims that help to give it a lowered look all around. Yeah, I have always like the BULLITT for its clean look. I think its much better without the scoops and plastics they like to bolt onto the GTs.

Its a blast

Yeah man I have plenty of beer to last us while we try and put the tranny back in. I have about 1500 on her now so shes broken in, maybe we will see if it will really run a 13.7

I should, you are correct there, i cant tell you how many times i have driven through the ford lot and stared at the bullits, i really do want one. (Highland green of course) But i have 4 cars at the house now, and i would have to dump my current mustang to get another.

Congrats on the Bullit!!! I'm still hoping that next year I will be able to park my 93 and daily drive something newer, but only time will tell.

Congrats on the new car! That's awsome. The bullit is by far my favorite S197. I love their clean appearance.

My dad has an 06 GT and added the FRP 'power pack' (315hp). It's very fun to drive and handles sooo much better than the 95-04 stangs. When it's time to replace my '97, I'll probably be shopping 05-08 GTs. I've driven both automatics and manuals and I think the autos are actaully more fun than the manual.

When I worked for the dealer group the best test drives were the Bullitts! Great car!
