Hey i was wondering if anyone had info on how to make the shelby mustang turnsignals for are car?? i think it would look really nice. also on a side note what do you guys think of night-shaded taillights ill post a pic of a teaser later ok.

Are you referring to the sequential taillights like on the old Cougars?

These guys (Mustang II Tech) have a nice article on making a set of sequential taillights for the MII.

You'll probably want to look up the MII "3 red tailight" modification also.

These folks sell MII LED tailights, but I'm not sure if they are sequential: NorthWest Mustang, LLC

I'm considering buying 2 of their MII sets and doing the "3 red taillight" conversion. They also have a really nice MII showcar.

I think you mean all red tails. To do this you need two sets of II tail lights. Using your weapon of choice. A soldering gun with the cutting bit in it. (hot knife) or a dremel tool, cut two lens' out of the tails (the ones closest to the licence plate). Then on your other set of lights hot knife or dremel out the yellow/ white lens'. Then glue (I used Model Glue) the red lens taken from the other set of tail lights in its place. It is much easier then it sounds. The chunky stock pot metal chrome tail light trim piece will cover-up any minor boo-boo's. I made a set and gave them to a friend. I also used a similar trick to mount a master disconnect switch in the tail light. The II tail light is so deep, to my surprise the big freakin switch did not require me to loose the tail light bulb (they both fit in there).

Did the same on my 76 Cobra ll. lam useing the 67 Shelby Dynamite Sticks. The only problem is l keep burning out the trailer switch relay. Must find a H D relay or something. Anybody have any ideas?

Before making a recommendation it would be good to know what relay is already in use and what it's driving/ the load.

I see, I'm guessing you ran a hot wire to the rear and are using relays patched into the factory loom?

Which part of the relay are you toasting, the contacts or the coil? And you would really want a diode on the coil to keep back feed voltage spikes out of the $300 Sticks.

Off the top of my head , if the relays your burning are those cutsie little things found on circuit boards you could step up to a horn relay, if your toasting a horn relay Bosch makes a nifty little 50 amp unit. Can't really day for sure since I don;t know the particulars of the wiring.

Depending what the needs are I suppose you could go to a junk yard and snag relays from just about any EFI car, relay brackets/ carriers and all.

I don't have the sequencials yet, but I did make some Shelby tail lights the easy and cheap way. Red lens dye spray paint off e bay $10 and 1 roll of chrome fender molding $14.99. Took about 2 hours to complete, masked and painted while on car. This was a year ago in Vegas sun and they have not faded or scratched yet. I sprayed over the backup lens also, but you could leave it clear. I have a backup beeper for parking lots when backing up.
