me and the mrs. are going to Destin in april. Is there anything we should know about it? like parts of town we dont need to be in or tourist traps?

All of Destin is a tourist trap! Great place to party and eat though. Bring cash, lots of it.

already got the room, place called the beachside inn. price was good and its close to the beach. what resterants are good there? im sure they have the chain shops, how about local places...

Don't leave Destin until you've eaten, or at least gone in and sampled some of the local brews at McGuire's. They have great steaks there too! Can't miss it either, it's right on your left as you come over the bridge from Santa Rosa Island. I've also heard the "Back Porch" is good too, but I've never personally been there yet.

been there and back and cant wait to get back there. great trip but i didn't make it to McGuire's or a few other restraints there, the restraint in the hotel was really good and reasonable. Destin Commons is cool if ya want to drop some cash and the Air Force armament museum is cool. beach was nice but the gulf was angry that weekend! hopefully it will be happy in October.

we did, my wife loves "crockagators" so other than an ihop in sandestin and camille's at the hotel thats the other place we ate. feeding them was a rip off. the uneaten treats that lay all around the gators should tip a person off!
