Never used the stuff and have no intention of ever trying it.
Cobra Red works for a place that tests that stuff and he showed us a couple years back that it was all and broke down quicker then most other synthetic oils.

I use Mobil 1 or Castrol full synthetics. After 5k miles they still come out looking brand new. Good enough for me.

Amsoil FTW. I changed my oil a few weeks ago for the first time in over a year and looked like the new stuff I was pouring in

What about all the Stang owners claiming they could feel the difference when they got on it.

Didnt Ford drop all mobil 1 products and only stock royal purple now?

Or is that just at my local dealers?

Mobil One full synthetic in the Cobra and Valvoline synthetic blend in the Mark VIII and Ranger. The Lincoln runs 5000 between changes and every other month when I change it it looks just like it went in. The Cobras gets a little brown but its driven hard when I get the off chance to drive it.

My stepdad swears by the stuff and has multi-hundred thousand mile vehicles over the years to prove it but I liken it to him doing regular oil changes and not to anything special Royal Purple has in it oil. I've gotten the same results from routine changes with whatever is on sale.

I ran royal purple for a little bit either last year or the year before because I got a good deal on it.

I sure never noticed any difference. I'm back to regular dino oil now.

I've never been able to justify spending the amount it would take to put Royal Purple oils in any of my cars. They all either leak it out or burn it off too quickly, so it's never in there long enough to really get any benefit out of whatever longevity it might have.

The rare occasions where I have been able to actually afford and use synthetic oils, I've always gone with Mobil 1 stuff.

+1. Although, I'll be looking for an oil with a high zinc content very soon for break in. Possibly shell rotella, but I'm starting to hear that doesn't have the zinc anymore either.

I've never tried it, as it looks like most others here haven't either. I use good ole Mobil 1 in the '07, Ford synth blend in the Edge, and whatever is on sale in my beater... None have given me any problems yet.

In the mid 80's my boss raced a factory prepped 69 442. He ran 12.1's on slicks.
He changed the oil after every race day. It was the first time I had ever seen "purple" motor oil. But back then it was Castrol. Never any mention of synthetic, though back then I don't think they used the term synthetic.
Then it disappeared for years. All the sudden that Royal Purple showed up and Im pretty sure it's the same oil. (Never saw any other purple oil)
I just thought it was a great marketing ploy naming it "Royal Purple".

My 5.0 has had synthetic run in it since about 30k miles. It's got 66k on it now and the cross hatching on the cylinder walls is still very pronounced.

As far s royal purple... Meh never used it. Costs too much.
