Or any other car, for that matter.

I dunno, I've seen worse. Ever see one of those "carbon fiber" hoods from APC for an '87-'93 Mustang?

There is more than you think available for the early fox cars, you just have to know where to look.

I recommend joining Welcome to FourEyedPride.com they will point you in the right direction

I'm doing an 84 right now, just got this hood from Boss Inc., they don't even have it on their website yet, but is available if you call them. Fits 79-86

Finished underneath and very reasonably priced, also try Fox Restoration.

Are you sure that it'll fit the '79-'82 front end and cowl grill? The '79-'82 hoods are different than the '83-'84 and the '85-'86 style hoods. Also, the body lines on the '79-'82 hoods match up with the cowl grill and nose pieces of the '79-'82's, both of which are different than the later model units.

I know that your hood will bolt on but it may not match the body lines.

I thought 79-84 hoods were all the same. Keep it a 4-eye.

hoods are different 79-82 and 83-86

the 83-86 has a small section that drops down above the grille, 79-82 is more or less straight across

Damn. And here I have an '80 Capri and an '84 Mustang in the driveway, and I never noticed that.

Er, wait ... the Capri has an '83 hood on it, so it should be the same as the '84 'Stang. Ummm ... never mind.

Nope, the Capri is a completely different animal.

There is a dip in the middle but it's shorter and more abrupt.

The Capri hoods are also a bit longer front to back.

Maier Racing makes a couple hoods for '79-82 and they're great quality and cheaper than a Cervinis '97-93 hood.

Or you could look for an '82 GT scoop or Pacecar cowl, both are a bit hard to find though.
