| | Test Drive from SVT??
I was currious if anyone here ,or anyone you know of has had a paper or certificate when they purchased there SVT that states it was selected to be test driven and evaluated before it is sold. I bought my mystichrome vert with 8000 miles on it when i got it home i had cleared some contents out of the glove box along with this certificate well a laminated paper really i finally decided to read it today . Has the names of the plant manager, chief svt engineering, and marketing manager.I will type out what it says below...
"Welcome to the ford family and thank you for purchasing this ford svt mustang cobra . As part of our commitment to you, we randomly select vehicles to be driven and evaluated to ensure you are receiving the highest quality mustang possible. we are pleased to tell you that your vehicle was selected for this process. your mustang was reviewed by our management team and determined to be defect-free before leaving dearborn assembly plant. Miles accumulated during this evaluation can be found on the label attached to the drivers window".
We trust that our tremendous dedication to the automotive enthusiasts total ownership experience will provide you with many miles of exhilarating, safe, and comfortable driving in your new mustang.
So does anyone know how many miles the typically put on it when doing this or has anyone even heard of them doing this?

About one in 50 or so cars rolling off the assembly line get selected for extensive quality checks. My new Vette had an additional 40 miles on it when I picked it up at the FACTORY! They take it around a test facility, run it through its paces and then go over it with a fine tooth comb again checking tolerances, fender gaps, stuff like that.

stangz4life - Yes, Ford/SVT did this to a handful of cars as part of their quality control. Not sure about the actual mileage they put on the car - it can't be that much though, ya know? |

The 03/04's selected for this that I read about had between 30-45 miles put on. This "Factory Test Drive" for QA happens to all cars coming off the line though, not just SVT's.
