Undercoating - inner fenders

Finally got the '76 Mustang Cobra II I was after Own a '65 coupe still but found an abandoned project - complete but all in pieces. The best thing... no rust at all! Even the front window is good. Everything there but the original front spoiler and wheels. Too bad the kid took out the dash and slit open the wiring harness.

I want to start putting this back together right away, and would like sand and paint the inner fenders and around the door hinges so I can bolt the front fenders and door back on.

Q1: I want to go a darker blue (Viper or Guardsman Blue) with white stripes instead of the original blue, is there a POR 15 type substance that I can brush on and have it match the eventual outside paint job? I don't really want to haul the car on a trailer just to get those areas sprayed... also it will not be 100% stock (stroker motor planned maybe 5 speed) so I think I can deviate here.

Q2: Is there bolt kits - aftermarket - that can be bought? Would be nice to have new bolts in nice labelled bags rather than sort throught he can of mixed bolts I got from the kid.

Away I go - looks easy though - and love the no rust part of it all.

You can paint over the POR and there are no bolt kit available for the II .

Paint over Por 15

Thought as much about the bolts.

Does it matter what kind of paint is used over the Por 15?

From what I have heard about it, no. I used POR-15 on the underside of my car, and the guy who did the body and paint said the same thing about it-"just paint over it if you feel the need to have the same color." My car is black, so I didn't paint over it, but used POR-15 pretty much as an undercoating.

Overspray would help

I imagine the overspray when the final paint is being done wouldn't look out of sorts either. Close enough to factory finish anyway. Looked at a few shots on the web and from the pictures you can't see much inside the wheel wells anyway. I think I am set. Thanks
