So, there are people playing MW2 already with there modded xboxes. Last night, my cousins friend played it. He said there were already 1200+ people playing.
The game is sooo much better and the sound effects are alot better also. Cant wait |
Well good for the Xbox hackers but I know the PS3 servers are not infested w/ cheaters w/ modded PS3's Downloading the game early. They also run the risk of being banned of Xbox live if they are caught. |

Man am I ready.
I have too much vacation time saved up and I'll lose it if I don't take it soon, so I decided I'm going to take it next week. Should give me plenty of time to get used to this game. |

Wow.....pretty sweet weapons. Honestly, I'm less than impressed with the assault rifles. M4A1 looks sweet, as well as the SCAR H. I'm REALLY excited about the M21 EBR and Cheytac Intervention sniper rifles. Also, there are a TON of shotguns (including the full-auto shotgun I think). What's with that?
There is a shotgun attachment for the guns....WTF does that mean? Not sure how that works. Also....a heartbeat sensor? That's ridiculous, and a little bit out of touch with reality for me. There is no way a sensor could measure heartbeat in a situation where bombs and grenades are going off. Looking forward to infrared vision though.
Bring it suckas! |

Its still a game its not a hardcore military simulator. Not everything about it is going to be specific to real life. Its just meant to be a very fun game but beyond the unrealistic things that are in it I see it as being a far more realistic game then not.
Im looking forward to trying out the Bushmaster ACR |

Not only that Ive also heard that if your caught hacking you can have your xbox live account closed down. Nothing like being caught red handed. |

Wait they were playing ONLINE?!?!?!?
Im pretty sure they will all be banned. M$ hates that, and having your name on the leaderboards pretty much makes it indisputable.
Now if it were me I would have just opened another acct. |

I hope they all get banned and even if you made another account couldn't they still trace it back to your system some how? If not couldn't banned players just make new names then in theory no one gets banned at all? |

Good idea too but I think it should also be a permanent ban from Xbox live w/ that IP, name or address. If they dont crack down on it hard then it will only get worse. |

in addition, M$ should mandate Infinity Ward to release a patch to check some sort of signature that would distinguish a pirated version of the game from the last commit they made of the game to be released. that way, they can prevent online capability |

I think M$ bans your 360, you name, and your IP when they ban you. Depending on the incident of course, but this seems like it would call for the full ban. |

I hate pirated games or the act of doing it. I can see modding the system so you can play all the older games which have made their money for the company and employees but a game like MW2 took a lot of effort by a lot of people and a lot of money to make. They give us games like this and we pay them back by stealing it?
Thats the whole reason the cost of games goes up. One person does it and thinks... ohh JUST ME doing it does not make a big difference it wont matter. Well you add up all of those people thinking that exact same thing and look at what you have. It was stated that there was up to 1,200 on Xbox live playing it. You multiply that by the lowest price for Modern Warfare 2 ( $60,$75, $150) using the $60 price it comes out to $72,000 loss for infinity ward and the gaming industry before the game even hits the shelves b/c you know all of those people would have paid for the game but they decided to cheat and steal it. Wonder how many of them were thinking...its just me...it wont be a big deal if I steal a game, it wont make a difference. Throw in the fact that out of those 1,200 that there would have been some that bought the hardcore and prestige editions too

I'm sure this is not there first pirated game. I believe if they do ban you, it's probably just something stupid that they ban which you can easily fix(create new acct or whatever) and bam, your back on playing on live.
I bet these people know this too, so that's why they do it.
Either way, I am more than happy to wait 6 more days. |

of course its not the first time this has happened. It happens all the time with a lot of games but MW2 is getting a lot of press and a lot of hype so it stands out more. This used to only be a PC problem but that bridge has been crossed. My way of saying thanks for making a great game is by buying it, not stealing it. Are people really that hard up where they cant afford $60 for a game? How long have we known that this game was going to come out? Put away $5-$10 a week and you will easily have enough to pay it off. Its not that I really think they cant afford it its that they are just ignorant A holes and that goes for anyone who steals games.
Anyone want to support their side of the argument for why its ok to do so? |

Like if I had a modded 360, I would have got the game early, but I would have bought it once it came out so I could play it online without getting banned. And Im sure Im not the only one who thinks like that. |

Does not matter to me how hardcore someone is. Makes no difference if its the first video game they have ever played or been playing for 20+ years, copying and playing pirated games is just wrong |

Anyone want to support their side of the argument for why its ok to do so? | its funny, the vast, VAST majority of the people who pirated these games wouldnt even DARE to walk into best buy and shoplift it, let alone anything else. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
